I disagree, there is NO logic for a mickey mouse company like MNKD to be carrying this kind of short burden, with the share price where it is, and the interest carrying charges being astronomical. What we are witnessing is hope of driving MNKD to bankruptcy. All of the cream from shorting, to any rational circumstance would have been taken, and savored. This is an attempt to destroy the future business threat!

4877377al, On this board, it is customary to use the standard font size except in extreme circumstances. Using a large font is akin to "shouting". Thank you.

Fidelity is paying 53.75% interest to loan shares as of yesterday. Fidelity user as well: Are there a place where I can see this rate, or I will have to call their rep?

Wynn said he sees the impact of high-frequency traders frequently. "The other day I was watching the stock open up, and it went up on share volumes of a few thousand shares. I mean, every trade was a tick up. That's not the way it should operate in an honestly or intelligently run exchange. But that's the thing, all those guys sold their dark pools and their order flow and the positioning on the floors of the servers to the high frequency traders. And it's made a couple of guys that I'm friendly with very rich because they are high-frequency traders. But don't respect the activity, and I'm severely critical of it. And I don't mind saying so, either." finance.yahoo.com/news/steve-wynn-china-shorts-high-frequency-trading-first-quarter-macau-154338818.html

For those who are lending their shares out, or for anyone knowledgeable about the process, at what value is the interest calculated? Is it locked in at the share price when the shares were loaned out, or does it fluctuate with the share price? It is a moot point for my situation with IA here in Canada, I am just curious about the process.

It fluctuates on a daily basis and is based on the closing price. So sadly there is no lock. Its ugly today. I would like it better at $2.00 or $5.00 per share..

That's interesting. It appears there was far more long volume than short volume yesterday. However, I might have eaten lead paint when I was a kid and am having trouble understaning how exactly long and short volume therein are calculated. Does short volume entail only selling the stock or does it also entail covering? Does long volume entail only buying or does it also include selling from a theretofore long position?
