ironic that the short interest is @ 105 mil and the new shares + warrants = 100 mil shares.. Clean exit @least for few majority short holders?

One person even eluded that he had reasonable conformation that it was short sellers that bought them so they would not get squeezed.

A fun short squeeze in response to the upcoming positive announcements would be good, but if we miss out on that because the shorts paid up front to keep us out of bankruptcy, that seems like a reasonable trade. Would have been better at a higher share price, of course. Everything would.

If a clean exit were the case why are there still no shares available to short?

Am i the only one that views this as a bad thing? The short interest decreasing actually makes me nervous. I don't think short sellers are nervous of a squeeze. I think they don't want to sit on this for another year as the gains are not worth the time. IDK

I've given up on a magic short squeeze a long time ago. Good for them if they get off easy, I don't care anymore, I just want them (and the viscous attack on this company that they represent) GONE!
With that said,,,, I'm a bit concerned that we've dropped 50 mil shorts, and the sp is ONE DOLLAR!!!! And with no real reason (at least that we're privy to) for those shorts to cover.
I just fear that the shorts have a 50 mil reload with NO room in the sp for an attack that large.

Time for them to go long don't ya think? IDK If I buy a stock for a trade and it doesn't move, I sell it. I was wrong. So I see your point. But I can't see it as a bad sign.

Hmm, 80 + 50 = 130... Wasn't the recent offering around 50 mil sh? Guess covering does not count as going to shorts...

This was a better short a year ago when the price was still above $6. While there is theoretically money to be made all the way to zero, the lower the price the higher the risk that the stock will pop unexpectedly and cause some pain. That was less of a risk at $6 and poorly performing script numbers than it is now at $1 and a new marketing plan.
The biotech world always has high PPS targets that are overpriced relative to fundamental value. No use chasing the last few pennies in $1 stocks when there are easier pickings elsewhere for those that like to trade the short thesis. It may not be MNKD so much as MNKD in comparison to other opportunities.

If you borrow shares to short you don't have to settle your short position with those share. Any shares will do.

If you borrow shares to short you don't have to settle your short position with those share. Any shares will do.Why would they not use the offering, and close out their short position in one shot? A 50 million share covering would cause a massive squeeze and affect their gains. Oh and it just so happens the numbers look (according to short interest data) like they match up. Those 50 million shares through the offering were a get out of jail free card for who ever held these massive short selling positions. Very small movement to the price but yes MNKD benefited because they raised much needed capital. My point is you have to love how illegal the concept is because the use of the law firm finding the shorts and bringing them together with MNKD avoids collusion between the two. Are you going to tell me that if MNKD reached out to one of these shorts sellers on their own and had a conversation about the 50 million it would be perfectly kosher with the SEC?

Question. First off I have never shorted a stock. My question is, when a person shorts a stock he/she needs to pay intrest on his/her position. Is it possible MM are keeping Mannkind stock from moving to get rid of the shorts?
Thank you.
