One has to wonder if this is where MNKD might do a Steve Jobs' "Oh and one more thing......our partner is......." moment???

MNKDMillionaire, wouldn't hold my breath for something so momentus as a partnership to be broken at a Conference; Conferences are a dime a dozen, that news, if it comes, has got to have its own stage.

Baba - I totally agree that partner announcement would not be announced at conf. However, they could reiterate their confidence in signing an agreement prior to year end. Our first sign that things are not going well is if they announce they have elected to wait for FDA approval before finalizing a deal - that would be devastating. Also, IMO they need to avoid using the same tired language they have used past few years "we continue to have discussions w/ a number of interested parties and several new potential partners have come forward to express interest" GAKKK.

Rak- I agree putting off a partnership until after FDA approval would initially be devastating. Having said that, it could be only because Al is driving a very, very hard bargain. I personally believe that this will still be a blockbuster drug, eventually. I would not be surprised, though, to see Al Mann going alone if he can't get the price he wants. In that case, the eventual buy-out price could be huge, but the payoff could be a few (3 years) or more away, with a lot of volatility during the wait.
In spite of some of the results only meeting "endpoints", I still can't fathom why someone would stick to "needles" & "stick pens" rather than an inhale - able product whose effect is no worse.
IMO, though, we are going to just hear the same old tired language that you pointed out.
