doctor.stockpicker • Afrezzuse type results will make doctors nervous
I just looked at Afrezzauser's tweel about his CGM's calculated a1c. I've never seen anything like it. Heretofor, when I see patients with a a1c much below 7, I would get nervous as studies (google ACCORD) have proven that low a1cs kill people. But he is not having hypoglycemic events. Could the world be saying goodbye to diabetic retinopathy, nephropathy, neuropathy, vasculopathy, and gastropathy? At least for now, it appears that the very early evidence is that Alfred may have known what he was talking about all along.

The easiest way to guide folks here is just to tell them to do a Google search on "Mannkind mnkd message board" (and ignore the Yahoo results, lol)

And short of a real cure therein lies the "Holy Grail..."Mannmade: Well, it's very, very interesting and there are so many "variables" that it's hard to keep track of them all. These include physician awareness and uptake of the innovation, potential users with the disease, dosing options, manufacturing capacity, rising disease incidence, potential global markets, possible marketing strategies, and a new CEO of a corporate partner with clout that is based in France, made more complicated by a large short interest that seems to increase with each bit of good news (and a company that aims to brand itself as purveyor of a novel delivery mechanism and not a pharma specializing in diabetes meds). Given this overall scenario, people with access to Mr. Mann must surely appreciate his conviction- which was underscored by his keeping the company afloat with his personal fortune. If I tried to make this story up, it would take more imagination than my right brain could muster- so truth is definitely stranger than fiction. I've been mesmerized by Afrezzauser's gleeful tweets about the terrific results he is getting and the peace of mind and quality of life this enables. He put it best when he tweeted: " afrezzauser: Most diabetics at some point deal w/ depression and mental health issues. Not enough words to describe how I feel now." These are factors that are very hard to quantify, and if they gather steam and create interest and demand (as they should over time), the significance of it- not just in sales, but in benefit to millions- is mind numbing. How these factors will piece together in the coming months will be fun to watch, even with the expensive and nerve-racking cost of the front row tickets long investors now hold. GLTAL Chris-C

LOL. With advertising the link over there ... careful what you ask for! No, it's OK, really...remember, this board is moderated. The mods need some practice once in a while!

Indeed. That is a defining difference. As well as an established, actual community with consistent expectations for rules of engagement.
On that other thread is that conversation now talking about the value of this board.
The key difference is that this board, in addition to moderation, is actually a community with common interest - investment in MNKD the company. Differences in opinion and occasionally people wandering through with a bearish view - sure - but in truth, this is a truly a community of investors using the discussion board as a medium.
The other main places (ST, YMB) are really open forums (not communities) about MNKD stock - and hence, the formation of cliques/gangs and mud-slinging in the battleground zone.
Tho gotta say - YMB seems more like WWF on most days. They should use that as a theme for the avatars.

"Alfred knew what he was talking about..."
Word is that Al completely blew away the Sanofi sales reps with his presentation in Vegas. I also remember his use of the word "remission" in two interviews.
I'm not even sure most MNKD longs fully understand Afrezza's potential. It sure would be helpful if MannKind could have done a better job communicating all the facts. Perhaps FDA restrictions prevented management from public disclosures of certain information. Well, it's pretty much Sanofi's job now. Let's hope they can wow the medical community and consumers as well as Al wowed them.

Well there I think is the issue. Its not about existing MNKD longs getting it. We need everyone else to get it. More importantly, buy it and use it ....
Maybe AfrezzaUser can start a viral campaign - something like - "Show me your chart!" And diabetics across the country (eventually world) pose with their charts in front of some sort of famous landmark or what.

How about "What's your number?"and then flash to CGM screens... or "Afrezza means less BS!" (Blood Sugar)

"I'll show you mine if you show me yours..." Hah! In the commercial you have people looking around furtively, then flashing you a picture of their monitors. A voice-over can fill you in about Afrezza while you're watching dozens of people showing off their glucose control graphs. I luv it!
Now if we could somehow merge this idea with the 2015 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue? Screeeeech... um, maybe not. Forget that idea (chuckle).
Now, where was I? Oh yeah, "I'll show you mine if you show me yours..."
