Spiro, I'm not a diabetic, just curious to know if you changed when you took your Afrezza could you prevent/lower that 136 number? When did you inhale! Would it help with a big carb meal to take it before eating? So you kind of get ahead of the curve so to speak... Congrats on your success!

cybergym66,
I take the Afrezza seconds before starting to eat each meal. I haven't tried changing that routine yet.

As many have said, each diabetic is different so your insulin care will depend on what you find is best for you!

Just curious... can you tell any difference in the way you feel? Less tired, or other? My mom is flirting with 7 A1C and I wonder if she would notice benefit of getting on Afrezza.

Spiro, you are crushing it. Congratulations on all of your success. Not to pick to deeply into your private life but do you feel an increase in energy and do the great blood glucose numbers give you a psychological boost / sense of achievement? :) Also, here is a link for everyone from an interview of Al Mann done this past fall. In the article, Al indicates they have technology that will allow them to load 34 units into a cartridge which I did not know and clearly Al has strong beliefs about people with Type 2 using Afrezza with success. www.diabetesincontrol.com/articles/85-clinical-gems/16894-an-exclusive-interview-with-al-mann-founder-and-ceo-mannkind-corpWith all the bad that goes on in the world, it's nice to read about the Al Mann. Gives hope that there is humanity left on our planet. PS - Spiro, as your story starts to travel around the web and blogs, are you going to change your handle from "Spiro here" to "Spiro here, there and everywhere"? Congrats again and continued success.

On the link to the Al Mann interview, I said 34 units when in fact it was 36 units.

Thanks for the questions, but truthfully, Spiro did not feel bad before starting Afrezza. But these good numbers are certainly encouraging him to pay a little more attention to his diet and exercise routine. Spiro can safely say, that there has been a slight attitude adjustment occurring on his psyche. But will this last through Spiro's Mediterranean cruise in late May? How can anybody turn their back to strawberry cheese cake, chocolate mousse and gelato everyday. Spiro's only chance to avoid these finer things in life, will be to get sea sickness.
Spiro here, you know, the Spiro's could split up and go everywhere, but they are a better team together.

Spiro, It's too bad that the Technosphere medication for sea sickness is not yet available. You could send back a report from the front about it on your trip in May.

Spiro won't need to "avoid these finer things in life" because with your Afrezza, you can have your cake and eat it, too. Or mousse. Or gelato. Whatever spiro wants. Sure, Afrezza is not a weight-loss supplement that burns calories by itself, but spiro can continue his walks when he gets back...or while touring the various ports of call.
The important issue for me was discussed on another thread on this board. What's really important in peoples' lives are choices and quality of life. Afrezza can provide a new level of enjoyment in life for millions.
If spiro wants to report during his vacation, I hope it's not just about numbers, but about delights (food & others) that can be enjoyed instead of avoided.

Holdem,
Spiro is weakening, he likes the look of these good numbers. But he will definitely eat at least 1/3 to 1/2 of his strawberry cheesecake and gelato everyday.

And I'll tell you what, a food-living Greek on a Mediterranean cruise with all that food - if you can keep your diabetes under control in such an environment, that will be a huge feather in Afrezza's cap.

Crazy Spiro,
Perhaps you will print out this Greek cheesecake recipe and pass it along to the executive chef?
www.eatingwell.com/recipes/greek_yogurt_cheesecake_with_ouzo_poached_figs.html Although they just may have something like it on board already.
Of course, when the chef brings this desert to your table (with warm Ouzo-poached figs...yum!) and thanks you personally for sending him the recipe, Smart Spiro might take the credit, but only because he knows how modest you are, right?
