Attachment Deleted Spiro just recorded a 76, three hours after lunch and a pinwheel marshmallow cookie. The BG meter is on top of Spiro's 2/12/15 Lab results. Note the fasting glucose of 141 near the top and the 7.1 A1c near the bottom. My doctor wrote in the 7/14/14 lab results by hand. Spiro's Doc loves to write all over and mark up his lab results. Afrezza is a great product folks and the whole world will soon know it. the shorts already know it, they are just in too deep to give up, but they will soon. Spiro here, sorry about the poor quality of the screen shoot

Spiro, did you mean 4/14/14 lab results of 6.6 A1c are what your doctor wrote in? Or is that a goal the doctor wants you to reach?

6.6 was the previous A1c to the 7.1, Goals were not discussed. Just woke up at 88 again. Crazy, 88 seems to be the new norm.

tripoley,
Spiro didn't get prompted, he got scared into treatment. He was also having some symptoms of small fiber neuropathy in his hands and feet. Nerve renew really helps here.
This is what scared Spiro.
4/8/14 6.4
7/14/14 6.6 After this test, Spiro lost over 10 lbs and exercised regularly
2/12/15 7.1 Reality time, Spiro now knew way too much about diabetes to ignore this number. Reality time became Afrezza time.

Mods, is it possible to give two thumbs up? If not, can you make an exception here? And while you're at it, can you make that 10 thumbs up?

I finally had my six-month doctor appointment last Thursday, April 30. As I previously posted that I wanted badly to get on or at least try Afrezza, I should update the Board as to what happened.
Recall I was forced to change insurance plans due to Obamacare rules and this appointment was with a new (new to me) doctor/ARNP. She had not heard of Afrezza. I was pleasantly surprised that she at least seemed to be genuinely interested and open minded about it. She promised to look into it and get back to me. So I am waiting to hear from her office. I dropped off paper copies of various items relative to Afrezza for her use. The news announcement of the 27 to 1 FDA Advisory Committee Panel decision, writings by Amy Tenderich of Diabetesmine, postings and testimony of Sam Finta, aka Afrezzauser and other users, etc.
I am on a very expensive drug now, Bydureon for Type 2 diabetics. It's a once weekly injection, a GLP-1 drug like twice daily Byetta and it costs north of $500 per month. I suggested substituting Afrezza for Bydureon in an effort to entice the insurance plan with a potential cost reduction.
Anyway, I am just waiting to hear in the meantime. I posted here on Spiro's thread since I am a Type 2 like him and I didn't think my situation merited a whole new thread. I will post again when I hear back from my new doctor/ARNP.

tbone,
Spiro is getting bored by his results, same old, same old everyday. But Spiro was interested by his glucose numbers earlier today. After a big breakfast, Spiro did a 3 hour test.
Fasting 101 1 hour 102 2 hour 104 3 hour 82
One thing is certain, Spiro is 100% positive that Afrezza can work great. He gets confirmation of that everyday. But spiro really needs for MNKD's share price to get higher than his A1c.

"Spiro here, back from the NC mountains"
I was really worried about you suddenly disappearing. No phone or Internet in the NC mountains? I liked the idea of the witness protection program. Or perhaps you had been Karpped.
