Let's see what people here think about the notoriety of Afrezza. You need to have several options in the single digits. I would put it at less than 2%. There is a huge population that is probably on orals, pay no attention to anything related to diabetes other than when they go to their doc every X months and get scolded for having too high of an A1c, tell their doctor they'll eat better and exercise, and then go home and try to put it out of their mind.

I guess I could have added another slot for under 10% or even under 5% as well. If Liane or BD could fix that, it would be fine with me.
I voted under 20% and I figure maybe about 5-8% know about Afrezza.

Next poll -
What percentage of diabetics will know about Afrezza by the end of the year?
If the number is below 50% has Sanofis marketing efforts been a failure?
Disclosure: I voted under 20% in the current poll

I try and tell someone everyday. No one I have told has said they already knew. I can't wait for the day that someone says YES I USE IT! When will everyone know what all of us MNKD longs know. kc says 18 months. Sounds right. Thanks to spiro and Sam and all the vocal early adopters!

Disclosure: I voted under 20% in the current poll I don't think diabetes specific media (mags, online, etc.) would get them to 50%. I suspect to reach that goal would require TV. It might happen by end of year, but may well not. I wouldn't judge that a failure if the timeline of their marketing (vs doctor eduction and formulary improvement) means they don't do TV in 2015 early enough to move the numbers by year end. It's hard to judge a plan a success or failure when the plan is a secret.

I know people are using Twitter, and other media blogs.. but every diabetic and shareholder can utilize facebook too with a catchy heading on their home page.

I doubt "every diabetic can utilize facebook". It would be interesting to see a breakdown of the diabetic population by age. My guess is the majority over 723 months (guess how old I am) cannot log on PC or do not have facebook.
A friend recently told me that they were disgusted by how many of their "older" acquaintances rely totally on what their docs tell them. Not only are they not seeking information about new treatments (Afrezza), they are only interested if that information comes directly from their doctor.
As for poll, under 2%.

Forget patients. I used to work as a pharmacy technician during my undergrad schooling (thought I wanted to be a pharmacist) and have reached out to pharmacists. Not a single one of them has heard of it. I can't imagine any but the crazy type A on-the-ball diabetics have heard of this medication. And those are probably the ones that are currently on it.
I had a coworker whose daughter has type 1. She has a glucose monitoring system implanted that measures her blood sugar every 15 min. She has the app on her iphone so she can keep tabs on her daughter because she's young and naive about the seriousness of this disease. Her mom is obsessive about her daughter's diabetes, keeps up on all the latest news, and all she knew was that there was an inhaled insulin but didn't know anything more about it.
There just aren't that many facts out there for people to find. I'm thinking SNY is doing a slow roll out until they can change the label and claim superiority. I think they really fear what Exubera did and want to make sure the cannon is fully loaded with powder before lighting the fuse.

Soooooo......trending lower in terms of scripts was the answer to that fear? ? Well heck, then SNY has hit the ball out if the park.

As I said in another thread I'm 81 and have been online since 1987. Most of my friends are in their seventies and eighties and almost all are online and exchange email. And I'd say that about half are on Facebook.

Stevil, you wrote: "Her mom is obsessive about her daughter's diabetes, keeps up on all the latest news, and all she knew was that there was an inhaled insulin but didn't know anything more about it."
A bit hard to believe. All one has to do is google "inhaled insulin" and you'll find Afrezza. Given how you describe the mom, something here doesn't compute.
