When things seem this bad, it's often a sign they're about to turn around. Sanofi confirmed what we already knew, let's get on with it. There's a whole world of diabetics out there, many of whom will love Afrezza, we need to get it to them. It will happen.
Anyone notice a lot of newbies lately? LOL, wonder what's up with that.

Holy smokes! A new intraday high! Who would have thought 4.20 would look good? I guess it really is all relative.
In other silverlining news, the stock dropped more than 10% today, which I think activates the uptick rule for tomorrow.
Re:garding new newbies, I was up reading the Sanofi report, and got sucked into a misery-loves-company maelstrom... Nothing nefarious, everyone here was a newbie at one time.

As I cautiously (not to get tarred and feathered) pointed out regularly over the last few months people had unrealistic expectations of early sales. Doctors are slow to change and overwhelmed by all the new stuff out there. On top of all this is obviously insurance coverage which is, to me anyway, the other elephant in the room. Afrezza really is another class of drug even though it is insulin. It will take time but extraordinary medicines do well and smart companies know this. Is Sanofi smart? I think so. That Sanofi didn't mention Afrezza in its CC? I personally get why they would do that that although if I was Mannkind management I would be rather upset but they are not exactly in control of what Sanofi says...
I voted that this conversion deal was better than I expected (one of only a few ones to vote this) because the knowledgable owners of the debt accepted these types of shares. This gives me confidence that those with a bit more direct knowledge of the behind the scene action are comfortable with what is going on. Short of a Sanofi buy in this is very comforting to me.
As for our popularity with 'negative newbies' at every critical moment for Mannkind: hmmm...

often ?
In 2 years I saw a lot of bad things but never a turn around .... Also good things have been always hard to afford here (except the ADCOM and post ADCOM). Today I had to buy another 1300 shares at 4,05.
I would prefer now, MNKD to skip Q2 cc. I cannot afford, in so short time, to buy another tranche on dip !

I'm only one week into Afrezza and am delighted. My average FBG for 7 days is 92 and for me that's unheard of. My ENDO is so high on Afrezza he does backflips to educate other Dr's. My only complaint is the Spirometry testing and we really can't do anything about that, YET. I've been an investor for a couple of years and have lots of stock, I DON'T CARE WHAT THE PPS IS RIGHT NOW. I'm in for the long term and MNKD isn't going away. We need to be picked up by major diabetic organizations. Right now we're preaching to the choir.
If you're wondering about my sailboats on Twitter enjoy them. On the other end of those hash tags (#) are Baby Boomers that sail and either have diabetes or know someone that has diabetes.
If you get creative I'm sure your can find your own "Baited Field."

Unless Matt drops some real good news during the Q2 CC there will be another drop in share price. Hopefully institutional investors & SNY are accumulating at these "Blue Light Special" prices! Awww the good old days when you would be walking thru K-Mart and they would announce a special over the PA system. You would head to the aisle and see the blue light flashing and the crowd surrounding the clerk. Maybe MNKD & SNY could try this approach!

I have recalled all my shares from Fidelity. I am tired of letting the shorts control the stock price. I heard what a lot of you have stated about loaning out the shares and then buying the stock with the monthly proceeds but to me it is just not worth it. The daily interest that you collect is peanuts. If you owned 5,000 shares at $4.50 with the current interest rate at 16.5% (Fidelity), your daily interest is $10.17. Times that by 30 days and you get and whopping $305.10. The institutions that are shorting this stock have lowered the stock price around 13% this week alone.

But they spoke about Afrezza in Q1...That explanation doesn't fit the bill. Don't think I'm a newbie to this stock, btw. I've contribute multiple bullish articles on Seeking Alpha for these guys

The flaw in your thinking is what those accumulating now are doing. I'm one of those in a very small way. I am still accumulating and even if I thought my lent shares actually had an effect (which they do not given how tiny of a small meaningless number of shares I have), I would be benefiting from the lower price during this period of continued accumulation. If the buyers right now are not random suckers (what the shorts wold think of them) they well may be buyers that have no problem keeping the price low as they accumulate. If I were an institutional buyer wanting a large position I'd be buying now and immediately turning around and lending shares. I'd want to keep my buying paced enough that I didn't swamp the demand of the shorts to take my shares and put them back on the market. This cycle could go around forever, even without your participation. One dedicated buyer and one dedicated short could keep on passing the same shares around in a circle allowing the institution to build up a long position as the short digs the hole deeper for themselves (or the other way around if you believe Afrezza will fail). So you may well be fighting a fight that simply can't be won if current buyers aren't on board with having their interests aligned with near term price rise.

There is no small shareholder: 0,1% + 41,1% + 11,1% + 47,7% = 100% No matter how small you think you are, put together you are louder.

Love your post, blindhog, keep up the great results and the great ideas. Gotta get the word out in whatever way works, Spiro, who is traveling back to Miami today, thinks you're on to something with the Twitter thing.

Does anyone find it hilarious within this thread entitle, "Short covering in process now" that nobody is talking about shorts covering?
Unlike most days when my peers are posting "they're covering!", the share price is actually slowly climbing higher after the early morning knock-down, which indicates buying. It sure looks like some covering may be in the mix, but with a volume of 5.5 million as I type this, one would hardly state that shorts are heading for the exits.
Okay, back to the off-topic banter...

See my post in the SI thread yesterday...issues with too big to exit thesis.
