Just saw a Novolog commercial. Very aggressive, and aiming at exactly the points Afrezza will be targeting when they begin DTC. Someone must be getting nervous. I hope Sanofi de-fangs them all when the very first TV ad shows diabetics stabbing themselves with a needle and grimacing. During this collage of "ouch" moments, we hear a background voice of a young woman saying, "I know I need insulin to stay alive..." then the camera cuts to her holding an Afrezza inhaler as she says, "...but who says that taking my mealtime insulin should have to hurt?" followed by another collage of diabetics inhaling Afrezza.
In my opinion, a Sanofi commercial that shows the actual needle penetrations would immediately grab the attention of every diabetic who uses an RAA mealtime insulin and it would ESPECIALLY grab the attention of early diabetics whose physicians are advocating insulin therapy. Those who are facing having to start injections because of the progressive nature of the disease...they will definitely pay attention.
It's true that insulin needles are much better today, and less painful, but the psychological factor of a needle injection is a powerful image and a powerful motivator.
I hope Sanofi uses this image in its TV advertising of Afrezza.
Now, if only we could get Sanofi to blitz the airwaves with this very visual ad of your making beginning Friday, to show what their new strategy in diabetes is made of! I'm getting a bit tired of waiting. Insurance be damned!

You know, I find myself pondering about that day in a few years when Sanofi will be able to market Afrezza for children. Talk about powerful TV ads!
Afrezza for Kids is another reason why Sanofi will never abandon Afrezza, IMO.

Why do I keep thinking TV commercials may educate doctors more than diabetic patients....... Just a thought.

Why do I keep thinking TV commercials may educate doctors more than diabetic patients....... Just a thought. They are both needed as each is 'independent' validation. Same with sales reps and obviously peer education. The more messengers the more the concept sinks in.

Instead they could just say: "Inhale baby, inhale!

From what i'm told by diabetics, it's not the injection needles that hurt as much as the cumulative effects of constant pinpricks from testing. I have read of multiple products now in the developmental pipeline that will give constant blood monitoring in a FitBit like device. Does anyone have more details on this?

Imagine the possibilities of such a device to accompany Afrezza. Total pain free diabetes treatment
