Although I am not pushing for a commercial yet, (patiently waiting for insurance approvals), it's quite exciting to think about seeing one for Afrezza soon. I can wait. No shares for sale here.

you can bet that competing pharmas have been paying attention to the reviews of Afrezza on social media and youtube. They know their billion dollar franchises are about to be destroyed (assuming insurance companies don't destroy Afrezza first).

Our commercials will be about 80% shorter, actually nine words come to mind - superior and virtually no hypo's if basal reduced accordingly They absolutely know/have known what is coming from around the block....we just didn't think the blocks were going to be this lonnng.

Except that I think the Time mag ads kinda sucked. Especially that first one. Embarrassing. Tho "$0 copay" was good to see. I thought they'd hired a good ad company!? Where's the creative? That first guy didn't look like someone enjoying better health due to his new medical regimen. Nicorette mighta been more on target. Let's hope someone catches a clue before they sink the real $$$ into this ….

Say - dear fearless board admins -
Might it make sense to separate out the section for the ads for Afrezza now?
Seems as DTC fires up more through this quarter and the next, there will be more and more spottings in the wild - including competitive responses like this one!
Ads seem to get lost in the catch-all category now - and plenty of meat on those other topical areas….

But we do have a forum:
Articles, Media Spots, and Ads
We try not to have too many forums as that generates complaints from the crowd that wants everything all in one forum (ala YMB).

I did look more closely at the forum title - but I think ads will get lost in there. Seems to me that articles and media spots would go more closely grouped with social media, since social media is often the channel for those things. Whereas ads are paid/sponsored by the company. But whatever works. Justa thought.

I wouldn't expect much from any ads until Afrezzas Label is improved (legally they can't say much).
Also, until insurance coverage improves ads are a waste of money. I don't want potential Afrezza users to see an Afrezza commercial, check it out, find its not covered, and not bother to revisit it in the future.

Novolog commercial has run several times during the dinner hour today. Think they know what's coming? It had better be soon. As long as the visibility does not exist, the internet gets cluttered with hit pieces that show up when docs or prospective patients see when they search google for Afrezza, Mannkind, inhaled insulin, etc... Get a nicer stock price and more funds can be raised, maybe expand the staff in Conn., accelerate everything... speed to market and visibility are critical.

Novolog commercial has run several times during the dinner hour today. Think they know what's coming? I'm sure they do. I found it interesting that they used the word "injectable" in the ad. I wonder if they had to for legal reasons.

I don't mean to be cynical but.......I'll be cynical. Wasn't that Kramer in the Time magazine ad? If Sanofi pulls this crap again then......well, we're all doomed. Interestingly I have a customer that is a French owned and managed outfit. I can tell you, it is THE most disorganized bunch of hooligans I have ever met. Nobody wants to take responsibility for anything. They fight over what department has to pay for the simplest of things. This doesn't mean that Sanofi is the same but for my two cents this Friday will make or break Mannkind in my opinion.

Just saw a Novolog commercial. Very aggressive, and aiming at exactly the points Afrezza will be targeting when they begin DTC. Someone must be getting nervous. I hope Sanofi de-fangs them all when the very first TV ad shows diabetics stabbing themselves with a needle and grimacing. During this collage of "ouch" moments, we hear a background voice of a young woman saying, "I know I need insulin to stay alive..." then the camera cuts to her holding an Afrezza inhaler as she says, "...but who says that taking my mealtime insulin should have to hurt?" followed by another collage of diabetics inhaling Afrezza.
In my opinion, a Sanofi commercial that shows the actual needle penetrations would immediately grab the attention of every diabetic who uses an RAA mealtime insulin and it would ESPECIALLY grab the attention of early diabetics whose physicians are advocating insulin therapy. Those who are facing having to start injections because of the progressive nature of the disease...they will definitely pay attention.
It's true that insulin needles are much better today, and less painful, but the psychological factor of a needle injection is a powerful image and a powerful motivator.
I hope Sanofi uses this image in its TV advertising of Afrezza.
