why the frowny scared face? This could be a really good thing if it has anything in the least to do with Afrezza, right?

Expansion is a good thing, especially when it's your own plant. Perhaps the planning request for internal road to handle heavier trucks is for bringing in the equipment for manufacturing Afrezza? Just kidding, but...long term, Sanofi will have to accommodate Afrezza production, if what Al Mann says about the inadequacy of Danbury has any merit (I think it does).
Perhaps Sanofi should just go ahead and acquire Amphastar, which also has developed some impressive inhalable technologies, is particularly noted for successfully manufacturing difficult-to-produce API's for introduction into the market as generics, and which has numerous production facilities, including one under construction (but strapped for cash) in China.
Gee, then Amphastar's insulin (used in Afrezza) would become Sanofi's insulin.

Sorry about the unhappy face -- that was a mistake. I was really looking for a face icon with a question mark on it.
In any case... Sanofi as CMO? Most of the big pharmas like to outsource to CMOs, not the other way around.
Sanofi is very different than US pharmas in some ways
