" you present the ultimate spin: the company is releasing bad news, to entice shorts, just to kill them off with a grand coup (perhaps during a Baptism of one of Al's grandchildren?)" downhill yes... but this comment raised the bar. very funny.

If only somebody could write in something like Carlos' final scene: "You have to answer for that CRL, Karpo."

MNKD is in the business of making pharmaceuticals, not crushing investors. There is simply no merit to your thought on this one. There is no baiting. There is not even any thought about shorts... or longs. Matt's response was to the innumerable shareholders complaining to the company about shorts. Matt simply told people how to prevent their shares from getting shorted, if they were so concerned about it.
MNKD has a duty to its investors to mind the baby, so to speak. Provided they are reasonably protecting your investment, there is nothing anyone can do. Afggain, they afre not focused on investors. They are focused on their drug pipeline.

sad but true. If you are going to post a pessimistic statement, please tell us why you think this board is going down hill. ? Just read the far fetched posts lately! This forum in about sharing facts and logical thinking of Mannkind Corp. Most new post is very very speculative and narrow minded thinking. Lets get back down to Earth shall we? You can take the Man out of the YMB, But can't take the YMB out of the Man!

What makes a short squeeze a "squeeze" is for that some shorts who are forced to cover have to pay whatever is being asked. When there are millions of shares sold short in a stock that only trades a few million shares a day the price can jump dramatically. There was an old saying about short selling that went something like: "He who sells what isn't hisin must buy it back or go to prison"

I don't believe it is short baiting for the sole purpose of triggering a squeeze although that may ultimately be the end result. I don't buy into the recent "brilliant Sanofi marketing" theory based on my own user experience with Sanofi's team. I suspect the social media experiment is what held back other efforts. Only recently (within the last week or two) have I seen indications that things are changing. I have heard anecdotal reports that pharmacists are now being trained and printed collateral from past requests has finally shown up in my mailbox. I have my own theory that the company will go private but I won't speculate here.
