cfield, it was a gutsy post. I have respect for you. It takes a courageous man to do what you just did. I wish I posted earlier. xoxoxoxo was spoofed earlier than him. My heartfelt apologies to xo for the actions some very misanthropic players on Wall Street. Those are fraudulent gains.

Thanks all of you -- sure was a learning experience. At the end of the day, the market isn't a casino. I've put hundreds of hours into due diligence only to sell in a second -- that makes no sense lol. Lesson learned definitely. Unfortunately at moments like this, SOME.rummors are real and every second counts. This is the unfortunate truth about doing business on Wall Street. You've got all your protocol down pat. Now, you just need to hone your bs meter. Welcome to the human race!

It can all be explained by simply studying how our brains process fear. There is a region in our brain called Amygdala, it's most primitive part of the brain and has not evolved and kept pace as other parts of the brain. That's where the fear is perceived and processed, it's funny but Amygdala can't differentiate between a snake and a FUD spread by AF or "The Street". That's the reason we react in "seconds", and demonstrate a fight or a flight response, in your case it was a flight response as all other rational processing units are kind a shut when Amygdala is activated. I have been there many times but as a scientist, I delved deeper to understand why we respond the way do. The way I do it is step away from my electronic gadgets, recall what Warren Buffett says "Be greedy when others are fearful and vice-versa", and ask my self will this harm me physically or materially long term. By the time you perform this exercise, your more evolved part of the brain called the cortex kicks in and start assessing the situation in a more rational way. I didn't mean to give you a lecture here but just wanted to share what has helped in be positive and more rational.

I made exactly the same mistake, but couldn't be certain until the news of the sale went out after 4pm. I sold about 40% of my position at a considerable loss. I don't know if I'll re-enter. It was not irrational to make the decision to sell; the source looked reputable and the report was very detailed, and the company's financial position without this sale would have been very shaky.
I reserve particular anger at the management for not having immediately disputed the report. Instead it said nothing at all and left us to twist in the wind.
I am deeply angry at managment and have written to Al Mann, Hakan Edstrom, and Matt Pfeiffer. The address is:
MannKind Corporation Headquarters
25134 Rye Canyon Loop
Suite 300
Valencia, CA 91355
It can legitimately be asked: If the management won't support us, why should we support it?
They have lost a considerable reserve of support and goodwill today.

Mr. Fields. Sorry you had to go through all of this stuff today..I enjoy learning that others get emotional just like I do. But, never like to see someone snookered like they did today... Its been a joy to follow you and I only hope we can all hold through this FUD to enjoy what Afrezza/TS should bring to longterm holders...GLTU and keep posting..

If the TASE was true, MannKind would have filed with the SEC. I immediately smelled a rat and did not sell. Thankfully my nose did not let me down.

For me, it's the first time I've ran out of the movie theater in the middle of a movie that I've paid quite a lot to watch -- when someone yelled "fire".

Awesome post, and a great thread based on the who's and what have been posted...
I was with you this morning, only I am way over invested in this. I sat at my desk this morning not believing what I was watching. Somehow, I think because of my crash course lesson dealing with SIRI (which I actually bought more at .06, very close to the terrifying low) I managed to not sell, even though the thoughts were running thru my head faster than I could keep up with.
Thank you for posting your sincere thoughts, and please continue.... It's not over yet!!!!!

Yeah for me, my mind was racing thinking I could beat the material event PR, which if it occurred, would've been terrible.
