I'm glad that you prompted me to look it up. I had neglected to subtract out the TASE shares
From the last quarterly report (10-Q) Pg 44:
Our amended and restated certificate of incorporation currently authorizes us to issue up to 550,000,000 shares of common stock and 10,000,000 shares of preferred stock. As of November 2, 2015, we had a total of 140,513,313 shares of common stock that were authorized but unissued, and we have currently reserved a significant number of these shares for future issuance pursuant to outstanding equity awards, our equity plans and our 2018 notes.
investors.mannkindcorp.com/secfiling.cfm?filingID=1193125-15-370935&CIK=899460
TASE ETF's committed to purchase an aggregate of 13,852,435 shares of common stock, according to the Nov 12 press release, so that leaves 126,660,878 shares of common stock, although some of that 126.6M shares is reserved for reasons noted above.
---
My point is that a FUDster or two may show up in an attempt to convince shareholders that bankruptcy may be imminent - the very idea of this makes me laugh.

How will MNKD convince a highly qualified prospective CEO to join the firm when they are facing a financial crisis that will occur before the new CEO could even begin to have an effect on the company? Seems like Al and MNKD will need to solve their financial situation before they're likely to get a quality CEO signed up. Right now, it seems like MNKD has at most about 2 quarters of funding available to them. Fair question. My answer is the upside is huge with little blame likely to be attributed if it he new CEO is unsuccessful. The financials are finally all on the table, we have had the BoA shares looming as a problem for months. This outcome didn't really seem all that unexpected but has lead to a share price crash. What attractive qualities does MNKD possess to attract a top tier CEO: 1) An FDA approved drug with a very conservative label which could and likely will be improved. 2) Afrezza will likely be approved for pediatric use 3) In trials patients greatly preferred Afrezza to injection which bodes well for the eventual success given enough time. 4) Likely international approval as the FDA has the most rigorous standards. 5) New technosphere applications and partnerships. 6) Insurance formulary and tier improvement. I can argue fairly objectively that each of these are likely events, certainly greater than 60% odds. Any New CEO will take credit for these improvements. Ultimately, sales will be the final judgement but it is so beyond premature to write the book on that at this point. There is more than enough near term success opportunity to make a CEO look like a hero, not to mention stock options vesting in the $2's. So yes I believe there is somthing to attract a quality CEO to MNKD.

Things look worse than they are, but even best case there are some serious risks ahead the next year or two.

I was one of the six votes who predicted new CEO hire before Christmas, so listen up:
My next piece of wisdom is this: Whatever developments have transpired since the last CC will be revealed in the first week after DeSisto's official start date on Jan 5.
Get in before EOD on January 5 for maximum gain.

Bloodrootfc it would appear that you have been on this board for short time and that your information has been very short sided. I would guess that most of us longs will shortly see you gone from this board.

You're right: I will be gone when I sell at $7.50 sometime in January for a huge gain having bought only two months ago and move on to the next big opportunity.

Actually Bloodrootfc, The new CEO will not officially start until January 5, which technically is NOT before Christmas, but rather at the beginning of the new year. An announcement does not constitute a "hire". Congrats to those who called it right....clearly not me

Recognize it.

Dear Duane, Please make yourself and all of us Longs (who are underwater) all of our money back and then some! Frezz Army reporting for duty! Happy New Year to all Longs

Frezz Army reporting for duty! Happy New Year to all Longs Yes. It's really the only thing that matters. ROI. Basically, there isn't a single MNKD investor who has a positive ROI at this moment. Should be a layup for DeSisto as long as he doesn't completely botch it.

One could argue that MNKD long investors are Reginald Denny and the shorts are the thug with the cinder block constantly beating us over the head with it.
