It could well be true and not a huge deal. All depends on whether it is indicative of a large number of UHC covered patients getting better coverage. I wouldn't suspect this guy is lying... just don't know the underlying circumstances. There was a portion of UHC patients that had tier 3 coverage in 2015. In looking at this guys prior twitter posts it seems that there is possibility he had access already in 2015 but was told he might lose it in 2016. It's still good news if it's a lack of worsening in coverage, but that wouldn't be the same as an actual improvement.
Here's hoping that someone turns up some evidence that there is wider coverage under UHC plans in 2016.

This was my thought as well, he probably had access to Afrezza and worried he'd lose coverage in 2016. It's amazing to me how this "tweet" spread like wildfire attracting so much discussion both here and YMB. It'll likely turn out not much more than hype like we've seen so many times in the past. I guess the fact that a tweet can turn so many heads is just testament to how little information we have to discuss and/or go on from SNY or MNKD.

I have to agree. The latest release from UHC clearly states that Afrezza is not covered under their drug plan. So I'm assuming it is for him only, cause he likely went through all the channels necessary to be approved moving forward.

Hillard is a great guy. He sent me a picture of him at the last shareholder meeting. He spoke about how he could eat the bagels and cream cheese they were offering as long as he had his Afrezza:-)

There should be different lists for different plans offered by UHC, not just one "release". According to formularylookup.com of people with UHC plans 7% are currently covered with no restrictions and an additional 15% with restriction. He may well be in one of the plans that covers these 22% of patients. It may well be the same coverage in 2016 as in 2015. UHC does seem bad for Afrezza since 78% of people covered by them have no coverage for Afrezza. Would be great if that changed, but it doesn't appear that it has with the Jan 1 formularies.

This is what I have found regarding UHC coverage for January 2016, it appears to be untrue. Medications Excluded from Benefit Coverage We evaluate medications based on their total value, including how a medication works and how much it costs. When several medications work in the same way, we may choose to exclude the higher-cost option. The medications listed below will no longer be covered under many of our pharmacy benefit plans. Click here:http://www.uhc.com/content/dam/uhcdotcom/en/Pharmacy/PDFs/Traditional3TierPlans.pdf Afrezza is listed, scroll down. NOTE: However it does state, "The medications listed below will no longer be covered under many of our pharmacy benefit plans." Keywords, many of our pharmacy benefit plans... it does not state "all."

Do you know how it was listed on the formulary that would be in place now, prior to this 2016 going into effect?
