Shortly after posting my rip on the Packers, I deleted my post - thinking I might jinx Detroit. Too late...damnit.
It took two fumble recoveries and a Hail Mary with 0 seconds on the game clock, but the Pack pulled it off. Unbelievable.    |

In all likelihood there are no negotiations occurring between MNKD and SNY. I'm not sure that is factual, but negotiations maybe occurring sooner than you think. The likelihood part implied that I didn't think it a provable fact. I suppose it also depends on what is meant by "negotiations". We know there is a board that directs the Afrezza JV, and I'm sure there would always be some issues where MNKD and SNY don't see eye to eye... though we know SNY has the final word in case of disagreement. That said, we have no indication that there is any significant disagreement that has arisen between MNKD and SNY. MNKD has stated that they are happy with SNY's efforts. It is nothing but speculation that any other "negotiation" would be taking place... buy-out of MNKD, dissolution of agreement, etc. etc. But yes, there indeed "maybe" some huge deal be brokered now or "soon" in the future. I'll stick by our respective choices of wording that such negotiation "maybe" possible but "in all likelihood" is not occurring. I don't think we will be seeing any significant change in the relationship between MNKD and SNY... though hopefully SNY's plan will be playing out in a more visible way, such as some action regarding new trials after this SD advisory meeting... and perhaps application in EU for approval. |

With all due respect, it wasn't exactly 'reported' that SNY was flying out early adapters to San Diego. It was simply put out there on the Yahoo message board, which to put it mildy, isn't exactly the most credible source in the world. For all we know the poster could have read Afezzauser's tweet about being in San Diego(as I did) and made up the whole story. In fact, after reading the endless unfounded rumors on that board, my guess is that it was just a result of someone's fertile imagination. Recently, the YMB has been responsible for, among other rumors, the big Las Vegas Sales meeting, a potential Google buyout(my personal favorite) SNY sandbagging so they can buy MNKD on the cheap, TS deals with Teva,pending EU approvals etc., none of which has come to fruition.
The simple irreputable truth is that SNY has spent next to nothing on advertising Afrezza, says next to nothing publicly about it, and stated during their last cc that they are cutting back on spending, which doesn't bode well for a sudden focus on advertising afrezza. There actions point more toward dropping Afrezza shortly (I know they've been sponsoring studies, but they need to, in order to provide a defense if MNKD claims that SNY was not living up to their part of the deal) instead of finally committing to the drug, and personally, I think it would be fine with me if they did, as MNKD clearly needs to find a more committed partner. Perhaps SNY has already privately notified MNKD of their decision which might explain why the CEO was fired and a 90 year old man was forced to retake control of the business.

Ashiwi and Spiro have known about this meeting for several months. Apparently, quite a few individuals are involved. I am sure someone will spill their guts about it over the weekend. You know, with MNKD and SNY everything is a big secret, but they may actually be doing something the right way on this one. Time will tell. Spiro here Spiro confirmed it here and I generally trust him more than YMB. |

No one should be questioning whether this meeting is taking place or not, I think it has been very well comfirmed at this point. The questions we should be asking is whether this meeting will be a non-material event as all the others have OR will it be some turning point? This is what I would like to know.

A few years ago I worked in a military lab that had a weird way of saying "due date" Instead they would say, "suspense" followed by the date. Never understood that completely until I have seen how Sanofi operates. So stealthy. We are in for surprises for sure, good or otherwise. |

Looking at MNKD's stock chart since the rumor started, I'd say it's about as non-material as anything could possibly be. |

rvc ... if your comment was in reply to mine... oooo, sorry, didn't AT ALL mean to imply SNY was going to be communicative about their plans, just that as the plans play out eventually there will be evidence that becomes visible. Heavens no I wasn't implying we'd be told anything... that be crazy talk. rrtzmd ... even if we make the leap to say this is the first sign of a SNY strategy to put in place a plan to prove superiority (not the most unequivocal statement I've ever made), it may be a situation of necessary but not sufficient regarding share price. There is still the issue of liquidity and potential dilution. Unless there is some TS deal that materializes and with better terms than many would suspect, MNKD will need to raise capital before any of what SNY is discussing in SD will result in a positive cash flow.
