It was reported last evening that SNY was flying early adopters to San Diego for a meeting. Today Afrezzauser posted on twitter that he is on his way to San Diego for the weekend. Asking if any others would like to meet while out there. This could be the beginning of a sincere marketing push. Any insights? Spiro where are you?

Ashiwi and Spiro have known about this meeting for several months. Apparently, quite a few individuals are involved. I am sure someone will spill their guts about it over the weekend. You know, with MNKD and SNY everything is a big secret, but they may actually be doing something the right way on this one. Time will tell.

Maybe this is a meeting to let all of the pilot users know Sanofi is going to stop selling Afrezza and that Mannkind is going bust? With initial "pilot" users reporting reduced and non diabetic A1C numbers, reducing basal need, limited carb counting, feeling better than ever, all in a simple form factor insulin solution that does not require injections I think we're on the "brink" of something good! Al Mann is right and he didn't spend the last 10 years of his life only to see this fail... Stay tuned longs! I'm holding 70K...

Spiro here Spiro, Since you were aware of the meeting, I would assume you were either invited to attend or have first hand knowledge of someone who was asked to attend. Did SNY specifically ask that this was to be confidentially handled? You were probably the first Type 2 patient on the product, is this meeting directed at type 1 only?

Lets say those invited is only for T1's on it so far. I'm now all for a very deep push into this market segment initially, rather than a broad push to include T2's also (even considering the market size). To me its seeming like T2's can't be bothered yet, while T1's with CGM's and having lived much longer generally with the disease are happy to be bothered with this new modality of therapy

I find it interesting that this comes on the heels of Sanofi's completion of two FDA's postmarket trials for Afrezza. The data from both trials are related to dosing.
Afrezza Postmarket Requirement/Commitment #2 on the FDA website states: "These data may impact labeling recommendations for dosing..."

According to SNY, the T1's are the "low hanging fruit" and there are about 2 million.

Could studies or patient meetings regarding dosing lead to label improvements or would that need a separate process? Maybe this is the first step in accomplishing the task of claiming that Afrezza is superior to other insulins, which it is. Patient testimonials have been the most powerful advertising medium to date in my opinion. The fact that SNY is interested in hearing from them directly is encouraging to me, but we'll see what comes out of it.

Afrezza Postmarket Requirement/Commitment #2 on the FDA website states: "These data may impact labeling recommendations for dosing..."I've been thinking a lot about dosing lately.... I wonder if there's a real concern there. I always thought Afrezza users would adjust to their particular life style & needs and kinda figure it out. Pretty much as they do now with injections. Maybe this topic is more of a concern than realized in regards to educating docs & getting insurance coverage for unknown quantities. (For the record, my wife's endo seems like he's winging it now with injection recommendations, but he's agreed to let her try Afrezza so we'll see) Didn't the SNY / GOOGLE announcement specifically mention something pertaining to dosing?
