I think by mentioning Black out period, many are assuming there is a deal in work. There MIGHT be a deal in work, but also keep in mind that the insiders know the numbers/text in redacted CTO that expires 3Q 2017 and could be a reason for the black out period too...

It's always black out period at MNKD! Where did you see this and when did they make it official? (Link please) Some will claim Matt said this in a CC, some have speculated this due to an e-mail by Matt claiming insiders can't buy at this time. I havent seen anything officially claiming we are in a blackout period, and I'm one of those "faith based, head in the sand" longs. Merry Christmas to all

(Link please) from Matt's email that some one posted a few days back Company needs at least one media/communications consultant. 300 employees and none can speak to the public. Even an occasional tweet... For example, "The employees of Mannkind thank you for your patience and wish you happy holidays" That is all I ask. We would return the good wishes.

Some type of material event will happen in the next month or so (outside US approval, Sanofi 5% buy in, new TS partner, etc.?). Shorts new the entire launch strategy and played it perfectly. Unless they think they can take it down to $1 and then cover I'm still completely dumbfounded as to why they haven't covered yet and claimed their victory. Big pharma must be really shelling them the big money.

Merry Christmas to all At many publicly traded companies, stock purchase or sales by executives are planned very far in advance to avoid issues of insider knowledge. Perhaps what Matt was referring to was that the scheduled stocks purchase and / or sales had not been planned to take place in the current time period.

Big pharma must be really shelling them the big money. Shorts don't control the stock price (not enough short volume - only 10m shares reduction last month) but rather the decline is likely because institutions have been net sellers, not net buyers, beginning in Q3 and accelerating into Q4. Shorts haven't covered yet likely because there is more meat on the bone here. Still around $600m EV right now so lots of downside to go as if SNY pulls out, mnkd will only get vulture bids on afrezza.

chuck... only problem is, no intelligent money would believe SNY is ditching Afrezza. There may still be downside based on that FUD, but they don't have an exit strategy based on something that isn't going to happen.

I'm Miss Pumper here and I don't even believe we are in a blackout period. Not unless the blackout period is a year or more.

There is no black out period. The reason MNKD is making no public statements or comments is that there is nothing to say that shareholders will be happy hearing. Trend Talk about doom and bloom. Just being "real". At the same time I believe MNKD will have something to say soon and investors should be buying at these depressed levels. If that what you meant by "doom and bloom", we're in agreement. Trend
