The products currently in the marketplace to detect and identify such biological threats fail to provide a comprehensive solution for threat detection and, importantly, are not stable or scalable. Additionally, current testing methods are typically too specific to effectively screen for the broad range of potential agents. Current methods also may require specialized sample handling in a laboratory setting and take in excess of 24 hours to produce results. The companies’ products are expected to produce results on-site within 20 minutes against a broad range of potential biological threats in a method that is environmentally stable and economically scalable.

Here's a patent application that was published on April 5, 2015. Seems like Receptors LLC was extremely deep into diabetes...

Engineering and chemistry to bring this about look like a challenge. Especially sensing glucose reversibly. The team in Oregon seems to have solved the reversibility problem in the conventional glucose oxidase approach.

• Receptors LLC were parterning with VeriChip for their radio-frequency identification technology.

Didn't notice this Petition for Cancellation filed against Recepors LLC until now, but this was in the Request for Reconsideration after Final Action that RLS submitted on June 19, 2017. Receptors LLC must file a response by July 29, 2017 or they will enter into default judgment and cancellation of the registration. Interesting.

The $1 million payment was likely something that Mannkind could accomplish on their own.  Future payments may now be dependent on progress by RLS that is delayed or on hold.  That fact that management gave us timeline for first payment and no guidance on 2nd is part of what makes me think the timeline cannot yet be determined.

Beyond the $1M it is just a potential revenue stream... but all my fingers are crossed.  

Until we get some update from management I'll assume that nothing is on the near horizon.

RLS should move to production in Canada, Liberal government has promised to make cannabis for recreational use legal by July 1st, 2018. Once we get making their potucts (yes, a new word that you heard here first, Def: Products derived from Pot), we could use the old prohibition routes to get them back into the US were the population base will drive the demand.
