How can Matt talk about sensitive issues with analysts and shareholders without publishing material information via PR first?

How can Matt talk about sensitive issues with analysts and shareholders without publishing material information via PR first? I'm not expecting announcements as much as Matt trying to paint a positive mood with many "possible" scenarios that "could" unfold. And that they are trying to make happen

Hmm. I still think that anything related to MannKind 2.0 is material information - forward looking statements - that can influence investors.

Hmm. I still think that anything related to MannKind 2.0 is material information - forward looking statements - that can influence investors. CEO's come on CNBC everyday talking about their stock trying to influence investors. He's talking the turn around story. Everyone asked why he wasn't doing it. Now he's the CEO, so I say go for it!

Hmm. I still think that anything related to MannKind 2.0 is material information - forward looking statements - that can influence investors. Yes, that may be true, but Regulation FD specifies that such information may be disseminated in a variety of ways. Transmitting such information over a telephone call or webcast is one of the permitted methods so no PR is needed. In an effort to be as open and transparent as humanly possible, many companies do a PR, file an 8-K with a copy of the PR, and have a recorded webcast link up on their web page for several months, but only one method is actually required.
The legal requirement is for any method that is reasonably designed to provide "broad and non-exclusionary distribution of the information to the public". A public conference call that was announced several days in advanced, is held after market hours, and which any person can listen to meets that requirement.

...and the beer will be ready. I left the champagne in the cooler, since I don't think we'll be needing it. It's there, though, just in case.

They're having it on feb third cause we're getting $23 for the buy out.... I am half kidding Did you miss a decimal point, perhaps? It's on Feb 3, not because it's the one year anniversary of the launch, rather because Al Mann is a big fan of Richie Valens.

Like several others on this thread, I am not expecting anything earth shattering to come out of this call. Instead I expect further discussion of the initiatives we are currently aware of such as the deal with Receptor Life Sciences, the Urgent Care centers plan and the transition of Afrezza from Sanofi to Mannkind. I also expect more clarification regarding the state of Mannkind's finances, including the state of their balance sheet and plans for securing sufficient capital to stay in business until the Receptor milestones kick in and Afrezza is on a more solid footing. For me, anything more than that would be gravy.

If nothing else, this very recognition is a positive sign. At least for my sanity if not bank account ....

If nothing else, this very recognition is a positive sign. At least for my sanity if not bank account .... You mean the stupidity of a lot of the shareholders of MNKD. It makes me cringe. This board is as much as I can stomach nowadays. Bio is all about sentiment so todays meeting is obviously a great thing for transparency. I think todays meeting is also an interview for those who were smart enough to sell a couple of months ago and are sitting on the sidelines. MNKD needs to raise capital and not at this share price. Getting those people to jump back will help the share price.
