Let's hear it. I have my guesses. What are your guesses? why have buyers shown up? I could run a poll, but I would rather hear.....

The chart! Ask trend. Why do you think he stepped back in to buy. mnholdem posted the same thing!
Nate called the bottom at .66. That's why he bought 300,000 shares at .67. That was a quick 300,000:-)))

I'm guessing just momentum traders... i.e. the ones that might have seen a TA signal and figure this is tradeable for a while as a momentum stock in this period where there is unlikely to be any substantive news. Perhaps there is time for another cycle down as well. Though I think we might have cycles with higher lows unless there is something further that seems negative news. It would sure seem we've already run through most possibilities for near term bad news... switch up of CEO in an less than graceful manner, ditched by SNY and loss of Al. Script numbers are trending down, but I guess that is to be expected. Perhaps the announcement of settlement with SNY could be catalyst down if there are really lots that believe it will involve big cash payment and it turns out it does not. Of course it could be catalyst up if it is a large enough settlement to extend the runway a meaningful period of time, which I'm a bit skeptical of.

Could be. But why did it took so long for the market to react. This was back Feb 29th. One thing for sure. With +17% they are on the Momo trader radar and these guys are difficult to control by algos.

highly doubt it. Mannkind isn't working on anything regarding this technology.

Poll is where I was headed. Hmmm. Five questions:
1. News driven (leaked or previous on disodium FKDP)?
2. Run up to cc/ER?
3. Short games - let it drift up more to short down hard again (not enough left at bottom for them to play with). May be in combo with (2) and expectations on SNY settlement?
4. Just following market?
5. Bad news and bottom in in (Nate called it) and we're seeing real covering and buying?
I want (5). (1) and (4) are short lived. But I've been trained to expect (2) + (3). Happens every time.

Let's hear it. I have my guesses. What are your guesses? why have buyers shown up? I could run a poll, but I would rather hear..... I think the 2nd highest all-time short interest of 130 million is maybe a factor. If, IF MNKD can secure some financing, then a stock price of $1 is absurdly low for the best insulin in existence. Ironically, perhaps Dr. Mann's death may put more uncertainty into the Shorts' case. That is, his will and estate may now be primed to secure MNKD more assuredly than the Shorts felt Al was willing to do while alive. Perhaps the Shorts are less confident. They have not killed MNKD yet although they have certainly tried. Today I am fondly recalling Asshole Fraudstein's tweet on January 5th or so when Sanofi announced they were dropping the partnership.....Ahole tweeted : "Game over"He's not looking quite so smart today and I'm loving it.

EYES is up over 10% today as well, not saying there is a correlation but they are both certainly outpacing the sector today.

What if Al made some provisions for MNKD and EYES in his last will?

What if Al made some provisions for MNKD and EYES in his last will? We know that as of 2007 Al's will instructed his foundation to make sure that his companies had "enough money." I doubt that he would have later changed his mind and written his babies out of his will (especially since he had made it clear that none of his human children would get another dime). Perhaps the fact that his instructions had not changed was leaked today, thereby causing the prices of both MNKD and EYES to jump.
