Like currently the revolt we're seeing citizens in U.S. voter polls leaning towards Trump as newly elected President. The Afrezza revolt will come in many forms, outside entities (RLS/Vdex and possibly Google) to include Afrezza users. Big Pharma, Hedge Funds, Fund Managers, Shorts, and your AF's/and alike, can keep their foot on Afrezza for only so long before something dramatic occurs. I firmly believe we are currently seeing outside forces forcing their will on MNKD PPS, to which they understand something is in play (something that we're not privy too/not yet anyway). I am not trying to pump the PPS, but something is definitely being worked/planned/orchestrated and I sense all the naysayers are sensing it too, like JO/GS/JPM, etc. I believe Matt is conducting business outside the box, away from how typical drugs are being sold and distributed. My mindset is, Afrezza is the purse and TS is the purse string to which leads me to this, see below. I recently attended (last week) a Pacific Executive Leadership Program and learned of this thing called a Black Swan. This program that I attended had nothing to do with the stock market and everything to do with Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness. However, just moments ago when I Googled "what is a black swan," this is what I was redirected to; What is a 'Black Swan' A black swan is an event or occurrence that deviates beyond what is normally expected of a situation and that would be extremely difficult to predict. This term was popularized by Nassim Nicholas Taleb, a finance professor and former Wall Street trader. I'm not certain that I understand the point of your thread... that a black swan is perhaps imminent?
Taleb also states that a black swan event depends on the observer. For example, what may be a black swan surprise for a turkey is not a black swan surprise to its butcher; hence the objective should be to "avoid being the turkey" by identifying areas of vulnerability in order to "turn the Black Swans white".
Good fortune to you. Good fortune to all.

In my training we were told to look for outside entities/impacts (applying this to any given situation) that could ultimately impact the norm. The norm being how we normally process/do business to avoid any adverse impacts. The unknowns are the "black swans"... in other words, look for the unexpected and look for ways to head it off/remedy/solution. It is usually applied to negative forces that impact one's mission/goal/situation.

No disrespect and everyone is entitled to their own opinions but I just don't get why this needs to be a thread? This could have simply been a post into the "Why is Mannkind Stock Price on a Run?".

It can be positive or negative. But very unexpected. Yes, like Trump! Agree, our black swan I hope will be that Afrezza becomes a blockbuster. That at this point is not expected by WS.
Black ones are rare, white ones are common.

The "Establishment" takes on many forms, both in politics and in business (likely other places). They share a common goal to split their time between "helping humanity" and "protecting their power and wealth".
I sort of like the example of Afrezza as an outsider challenging the Establishment Pharma. The more popularity with the people it acquires, the harder it becomes for BP to kill it. Frankly they had their best shot at the FDA, second best shot with Sny and GSCO. After April, the real movement begins with a fairly large total number of patient advocates with amazing real results over time.
Yes perhaps 2016 is the year of outsiders for both Mannkind and politic candidates. The year that the power base that has lost the balance and spends a disproportionate amount of its resources of protecting their power and wealth instead of doing the right thing for humanity. Call it karma, call it greed, call it what you want, but it feels as right as rain to watch this unfold this year.
Every good analogy breaks down with over analysis, but yes Go outsider, I'm with you all the way!!!

here is another (simplistic) way to look at this.
the recent price per share of approximately $1.00 has clearly been affected by the excessive shorting of the stockover the last year or more, and the continuance of shorting at a the low stock price seems to be betting on a total failure (or bankruptcy) of mannkind. if the expectancy or reasonability of bankruptcy, at least in the short term, can be dismissed then the price of the stock should balance or rise due to the discontinuance of the downward pressure from the absence of continued shorting. once the (artificial) downward pressure of the stock has been stopped or removed, then the normal or natural price should be reinstated, which should result in a rise of the stock price.
So whether you want to characterize this as a black swan effect (to the positive) from perhaps something imminent to indicate short term funding to avoid bankrupty or a stoppage of a previous negative black swan effect (which would result in bankruptcy), it seems to be somewhat explainable.

^ I can't speak for the whole market, but this is the reason why I jumped back in. As long as we don't go BK, our chances of making it obviously increase, which should then also increase our value as a company, even though the most important technical indicator, i.e. profitability, is still likely a long ways away. I think you are correct though... I don't think the bullish move is as much an indicator of our impending success as much as it is a change in sentiment around our survival. At least I hope so I hope that we're all getting it right and BK rumors can go by the wayside. Matt said that there were things he could not discuss right now that would help alleviate BK, but he said something to the effect of more needed to be done in order to become profitable. So it doesn't sound like anything major is going to be announced, just that death isn't around the corner like we (I) had previously feared.
