Again, a position opening in Valencia....
"Lead development of the overarching brand strategy for product for osteoarthritis" <---- Not Afrezza, not Epinephrine
"Product launch experience a must. Previous experience in diabetes strongly preferred" <----- Has something to do with diabetes... but seems like a new product...
This is a really interesting job post. Diabetes and obesity are both contributing risk factors for the development of osteoarthritis (OA). The normal course of treatment is anti-inflammatory and pain medications, local injection of steroids for inflammation in severe cases. Surgery as a last resort sometimes, or preventative in other cases.
As far as anti-inflammatory and pain meds are concerned, there are some very common generic APIs such as ibuprofen, aspirin, acetaminophen, naproxen that are used to treat the symptoms of OA.
To the point that the Receptor Life Sciences agreement sought to use Technosphere for treating (chronic) pain and inflammation, recall that MannKind is allowed to pursue development and partnerships in those areas (CNS disorders as well) as long as they are using different APIs than RLS.
I have to agree with other people who had posted -- there must be a cash source to be revealed sometime in the close future.

It also says "Previous experience in diabetes strongly preferred". My guess is osteoarthritis is a typo from a poor cut and paste effort.

Maybe they do read these MB's - the job posting is now gone. At least I can't see it on the website. Who here has never "borrowed" from the internet, especially when in a rush? OK - maybe not that blatantly...
Dr. Castagna is putting a team together.
