VALENCIA, Calif., April 19, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- MannKind Corporation (NASDAQ:MNKD) (TASE:MNKD) has postponed its analyst call scheduled for today, April 19, 2016, due to the unavailability of its Chief Executive Officer, Matthew J. Pfeffer. Mr. Pfeffer was diagnosed overnight with a retinal detachment, and is undergoing emergency surgery this morning to correct the condition.
The company has rescheduled the analyst call to discuss its commercial strategy to April 26, 2016 at 5:00 pm (Eastern Time).

Its unfortunate this company cannot catch a break. At least we know its legit. He has been having problems with his eye. Feel better Matt.....

The detached retina is not good at all, I'm really sorry Matt has to go through this. Hopefully, it goes relatively smoothly for him, but it can be tough and debilitating, depending. Clearly nothing anyone ever needs!

I suppose he'll do the call with a patch on. I hope the surgery goes well. What the heck can possibly happen next. Oh - I shouldn't have said that. |

This is just unreal. Has anyone been involved in a stock that's more dramatic than this?
At this point Mannkind is not a biotech company. It's an ultra-dramatic 14 year old with all the confusion and insecurity it implies.
I hope Matt gets back to his health soon. If this leads to another CEO shuffle, I wonder how many more twists and turns this tale will take.

What with what's gone on, even prior to the successful FDA, characterizing this as a cluster xxxx, is too mild. The one redeeming possibility is that if Afrezza hits a pothole, there should be more than adequate material for a prime time Soap Opera!
