I see that Rose is listed as the "Host" for the conference call. Wonder if Matt will be there or if he's still recuperating from his eye surgery.

The "host" is the person the conference call company coordinates all the administrative details with; it is not the main speaker on the call. The host maintains a second open phone line to the conference call company and directs which analysts or shareholders waiting in the queue get to ask questions and in which order. Most quarterly conference calls are 100% scripted and orchestrated from word go; this MNKD update might be different.

Raise your hand if you are dreading this conference call? /arm//hand///stretched 2 the max////raised. Temporarily low $1.00 PPS from dilution vs. lower Afrezza cost + better insurance coverage = the sacrifice to stay alive. I hope MannKind succeeds with their technology beyond diabetics in order to truly make a difference with patient treatments in this world.

Hi Tron, hands stretched higher than a hot box yoga move or a frightened banker staring at Bonnie & Clyde on every Mnkd call. But this one does have a load of comm ops planning info albeit we already know a lot of it but perhaps some details are explained. Perhaps we walk away feeling optimistic about things given this a real go with complete control of the 2.0 team. Maybe I'm totally wrong (again) but don't see much dilution speak on this call. It seems too soon unless there are no deals in the works and no other ways to fund the company. If they deliver the dilution details today, I concur with the big volatility of no BK v. Dilution. Just don't think it will be today. I still happen to think there are other funding mechanisms in the works.

My hands are down. I am serene. They didn't book this call to torpedo the stock price.
Given the circumstances, if there is dilution it will be through one or more block sales to institutions and you will read about it afterward. I don't think that will happen soon, but even if it does the focus will quickly shift to what they will do with the money they raised. That would be a welcome relief from moans about bankruptcy.
We've stopped focusing on scripts during the transition period but that will be the critical metric in the months ahead. The rest is just noise. If the M&M Boys lay down a plausible path to rapidly growing sales, everything will be fine.

I agree, they wouldn't have scheduled this call to Torpedo the stock price, but do think they scheduled it due to overwhelming pressure from shareholders to be more open and honest with what is going on behind the scenes. That said, while I applaud them for doing just that and scheduling a call to give us all an update, I think everyone's expectations are set too high (mine included) and when they hang up after communicating exactly what their press release said they would "the general commercialism of afrezza in the us" (or however it was worded) the price will sink as too many of us (again, me included) are secretly hoping today's call is when ALL the cards are laid on the table. All cards won't be put out, and therefore our stock price will suffer after hours and tomorrow.

I expect a slide presentation of the market they are going after in the U.S., including some statistics related to diabetic population. I also expect some time will be given in regard to lowering the price of Afrezza, but don't expect a specific price. They won't play that particular card in front of the competition.
I'm hopeful that the presentation includes their targets, either in $ revenue or number of patients reached, for the next 4 quarters.
Analysts and shareholders alike want forecasts and timelines. I would not be surprised if we see both of those presented today.

A conference call with a slide presentation? Really?

Sure, it helps keep the presenter from wandering too far off topic (chuckle). I suspect that Mike Castagna will be the primary presenter. Rose will be presenting financials at the Q1 earnings call in May, but not today. Anyway, if I'm right, then the slide deck will be viewable during the webcast and also made available at the MannKind website within a few days after the analyst call, such as this slide deck from the Feb.3 investor conference call:

Cool. I thought it was just a phone call not a webcast.
