Kent Kresa, Chairman Emeritus of Northrop Grumman Corporation "Mr. Kresa is Chairman Emeritus of Northrop Grumman Corporation, a defense company and from September 1990 until October 2003, he was also its Chairman. He also served as Chief Executive Officer of Northrop Grumman Corporation from January 1990 until March 2003 and as its President from 1987 until September 2001. From 2003 to August 2010, Mr. Kresa served as a director of General Motors Company (or its predecessor). From December 2005 to April 2010, Mr. Kresa served as a director of Avery Dennison Corporation. Mr. Kresa has been a member of the Caltech Board of Trustees since 1994. Mr. Kresa has served on the board of Fluor Corporation since 2003, and he also serves on the boards of several non-profit organizations and universities. As a graduate of Massachusetts Institute of Technology, he received a B.S. in 1959, an M.S. in 1961, and an E.A.A. in 1966, all in aeronautics and astronautics." pdc.csusb.edu/lessonsFromLegends.htmlI see your point. MNKD should have the connections to fly Afrezza anywhere in the world. That was the point right?
I like the way you think. Take a look at the great achievements link to really fly anywhere...with the B-2... My point was just consolidating some information on the Chairman at MNKD. I am actually looking at a time line and assessing his net worth. I just cannot see how he is worth less than $100 million, near the current valuation of MNKD. Weird, isn't it?

This is probably the coolest thing about Kresa. Space is the place. • In 2014 the Kent and Joyce Kresa Leadership Chair for the Division of Physics, Mathematics and Astronomy was established at Caltech. • Like Al and Claude Mann, Kent and Joyce Kresa supported thinking and innovation that others labeled as ridiculous and impossible. — "LIGO’s Caltech-led research team resumed listening to the universe in May 2015. To their immense surprise, detection came almost immediately. At 5:51 a.m. EST on Monday, September 14, 2015, the twin LIGO detectors observed gravitational waves." — "It seemed completely unbelievable,” says Fiona Harrison, holder of the Kent and Joyce Kresa Leadership Chair in the Division of Physics, Mathematics and Astronomy" — "The detection of gravitational waves has opened a whole new view on the universe,” Harrison says. “Funds provided by the Kresa chair are going to enable future projects of this caliber. I’m really excited about the prospect that we will be studying other worlds—studying planets around stars [elsewhere in] our galaxy that may be like Earth.” — "Harrison is a visionary in her own right, having led many field-shifting projects since joining Caltech’s faculty in 1995. Her work focuses on understanding some of the hottest, densest, and most energetic phenomena in the universe. She also helps develop advanced detectors and instrumentation for future space missions, including NuSTAR, the first orbiting telescopes to focus light in the high-energy x-ray region of the electromagnetic spectrum. She was named the Kent and Joyce Kresa Leadership Chair in PMA in 2015. Under her leadership, her division is poised to continue making giant leaps in understanding our universe." — "This culture of encouraging researchers to tackle the near- impossible is why Kent Kresa and his late wife, Joyce, chose to support Caltech by creating a flexible xible endowment. They established the Kent and Joyce Kresa Leadership Chair in the Division of Physics, Mathematics and Astronomy, providing the division’s chair with discretionary funding to support visionary initiatives." — "We have a tradition of not being interested in following. We’re interested in leading—in breaking new ground,” says Tom Soifer, the first holder of the Kresa Leadership Chair from 2014 to 2015. “While everyone else was pursuing much more conventional science, this crazy idea was being supported here. The nurturing that Caltech was able to do decades ago has led to this major discovery.” — "It means that if somebody has an idea that looks really promising, they can get started on it immediately instead of writing a proposal that may bear fruit in a year or two,” Kresa says. — "Staying close to the evolution of new scientific ideas is fun because you can imagine where it will lead—and sometimes it’s even greater than you could imagine.” -Kent Kresa caltech-giving.s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/18220837/Caltech-Campaign-Bro_Spreads_100dpi.pdfbreakthrough.caltech.edu/story/a-visionary-gift/breakthrough.caltech.edu/story/hello-universe/www.keckobservatory.org/mobile/about/fiona_harrisonRead more: mnkd.proboards.com/thread/7070/kent-kresa-space#ixzz4heCEqerO

But the big question is what has he done for us as chairman? We have no way to determine his effectiveness since we never hear him speak to the issues affecting the company. Impressive credentials but impotent results. He is the one connecting dots

Impressive credentials but impotent results. He is the one connecting dots I am counting the Hours or day's until then. Still can't figure out the week of May 8th-12th. Perhaps May10 was one of the dates that should start my clock or calendar countdown timer.

You mean the guy who can't show up to the annual shareholders meeting for the company of the board he chairs?
The guy that's been at the helm for the greatest erosion of shareholder value in the company's history?
Mr. Kresa hasn't done anything to impress me.

All that success is great for Kent K. but what has that done for mannkind? They arrogantly thought they had a buyout by Sanofi that turned into a profit share deal. MAYBE Kent K's rep didn't hurt us/helped us with Sanofi pre profit share but it turned into profit share and obviously that didn't work. Did Kent K. get us a buyout from any other big pharma player? Yes? No?....I think it's NO! Did Kent K. work on that contract salesforce deal? What has he done for mannkind - almost nothing. Where was Kent K. and his power and connections when Hakan was on the conference call begging for inquiries? No disrespect intended, but he certainly has done a hell of a lot more than me, you, or any other shareholder. It's always easy to chearlead from the sidelines, actually, I'm a pro !! As I said, just because Mr Kresna or Mannkind haven't met our expectations within our timeline, doesn't mean that they will fail to do so. So rather sit here and constantly focus on what hasen't been done, I suggest a few here should take into consideration some of the great things that we have to reflect on, you will find some of them in my previous post. There's always a thorn connected to a rose if you look hard enough. I wish you the best of luck with this crazy investment, but to be perfectly honest, I can add up every complaint from every disgruntled mnkd investor, and they haven't changed anything, it does absolutely nothing, just as the excessive pumping, it does nothing, never has, never will. So as far as I'm concerned, I'll just remain patient and positive and hope it works out. I believe it will. Good Luck everybody GO MANNKIND !!!

Kent Kresa and space just reminded me that Jeff Bezos wants to create a permenant colony on the Moon and have normal LEO space flights for tourists. Surely Jeff Bezos knows all of this will require having adequate and reliable medications on board of the space crafts and on the Moon. What approach would a visionary like Bezos want to use for this? Also, I wonder if Jeff Bezos uses any of Spectrolab's products? • I believe Alfred Mann knew a thing or two about space— • Here's Alfred Mann's first patent, filed in 1961, which was for solar cells www.google.com/patents/US3094439?dq=ininventor:%22Alfred+E+Mann%22&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjUy_ycnIDUAhWD3YMKHX4MDTAQ6AEIHDAA• Who was the lead contractor for the Apollo 8 Lunar Module? —Gumman Corporation, the company that was aquired by Northrop Corporation that formed Northrop Grumman, the company Kent Kresa once worked for. • What degrees does Kent Kresa have? —B.S., M.S., and E.A.A. all from MIT in aeronautics and astronautics • Alfred Mann and MannKind remind me of a famous quote that was said by Neil Armstrong while stepping onto the the Moon in 1968— All of this makes me think of— ~ Carl Jung

Cheers 🍻 to future but let's hope we get there.
All these Kresa blurbs, quotes, achievements & connections are his successful past....
We shareholders must ask ourselves a multi billion dollar question. What has he done for us lately? Bubkes!!!!!!!
My money is on Mike C to get er done. Matt should have been ousted with the opportunity for re-hire when we can afford a CFO.

It seems to me some here may benefit by researching the function of a BoD with the functions of management. Some of you seem to have their roles reversed.

It seems to me some here may benefit by researching the function of a BoD with the functions of management. Some of you seem to have their roles reversed. You are very astute. People are impatient. They need to realize that the company is in the direct hands of executive management on a day-to-day basis; however, MNKD has a very strong Chairman and BOD. Kent Kresa can provide invaluable advice and mentoring to the company employees from the CEO down. He's been there and done that, like Al Mann. WE lost a lot when we lost Al (RIP). We still have Kent. They are serial successes and very intelligent, but perhaps naive to the ways of big pharma. I know I was, or rather gave the benefit of the doubt too much. They have a history of learning fast and conquering. Just because things look bleak, I would not bet against them. Many of us are serious people too, and betting against us is a mistake. I do wonder how much Kent can commit to the effort at his age. If he cannot give it his all, I would hope that he would find a successor worthy of replacing him, like he did for GM. For some reason, Elon Musk keeps coming to my mind. Dry powders seem better than liquids in space...
