While the following is slightly off topic, I will mention it briefly since the underlying assessment is useful in the context of what the careers of Al and Kent demonstrate, a belief in doing more. I think that Matt and Mike (and MNKD) demonstrate these qualities.
There was another well known individual who became disillusioned with the medical and pharmaceutical establishment. His name was Andy Grove. Andy was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. He was rather agitated by the fact that his treatment plan was decades old. In light of the fact that he did so much to advance modern society by his relentless pursuit of improvements to the semiconductor, it was rumored that he found the medical and pharmaceutical establishment to be rather poor performers over the same period of time in their fields, to put it mildly. Unfortunately, he died soon after Al Mann. The cause of death was unspecified. He will be missed.
Al Mann Died February 25, 2016 (aged 90) Las Vegas, Nevada
Andy Grove Died March 21, 2016 (aged 79) Los Altos, California, U.S.
I do not wish to be morbid, and I hate mentioning it. Yet, it is important to realize that Kent Kresa was born March 24, 1938. He is 79 years old. Give the guy a break. Matt and Mike need to come into their own, and they are doing it. Give them a chance. I'm sure that Kent does not need the stress, but he's still here. I actually wish that he would find a great younger successor to shake things up. Then, he could just provide mentoring in the background with less stress and worries. A bigger investment in the company would be nice, too, but that's asking a lot from a successful guy who has little to gain. That is unless he believes what I believe...Technosphere in combination with a few other upcoming technologies can be used to extend life almost indefinitely...that's a wild card that I'll wager to say nobody else has predicted, and what would be the odds of that?

It seems to me some here may benefit by researching the function of a BoD with the functions of management. Some of you seem to have their roles reversed. You are very astute. People are impatient. They need to realize that the company is in the direct hands of executive management on a day-to-day basis; however, MNKD has a very strong Chairman and BOD. Kent Kresa can provide invaluable advice and mentoring to the company employees from the CEO down. He's been there and done that, like Al Mann. WE lost a lot when we lost Al (RIP). We still have Kent. They are serial successes and very intelligent, but perhaps naive to the ways of big pharma. I know I was, or rather gave the benefit of the doubt too much. They have a history of learning fast and conquering. Just because things look bleak, I would not bet against them. Many of us are serious people too, and betting against us is a mistake. I do wonder how much Kent can commit to the effort at his age. If he cannot give it his all, I would hope that he would find a successor worthy of replacing him, like he did for GM. For some reason, Elon Musk keeps coming to my mind. Dry powders seem better than liquids in space... 79 is too old

Apparently not too old to see the potential of Afrezza and Technosphere! Kent is younger than I am. Always knew that kid would go places.
