How about some eye candy for the female docs? I absolutely agree. I believe Michael and Matthew are handsome devils. But seriously female doctors are not swayed by a pretty face as much as male doctors. Always remember male Physicians where once teenage boys.

To answer Liane's earlier question - Why are we obsessed with this? "Outsulin"
- They need to spend their time explaining what makes Afrezza unique and superior via that curve chart and label improvements. Not what "Outsulin" means.
Now if it were just part of some tagline, I'd still hate it (Negative words like "Out" are tricky. See already here negative response by 50%?). But if so, then not clear on the need for any kind of protection if they are just coining a term for marketing purposes... I am part of the MNKD 2.0 market (aka. Type 1) and I hate it. It's patronizing. I live with insulin every day of my life so like every other Type 1 and I understand what insulin is. When someone comes up with a name like Outsulin it just makes me roll my eyes ( ) and wonder why they thought that was a good idea rather than talking to me like an adult.

I'm not sure why all the obsession; no indication if they will even use the term. I agree with Liane. We don't know so why speculate on how they are going to use that term.

You have to charm them. Looks don't get you through the door like it does for men.

You are right patten and reverselo, women prefer substance over good looks - to a point

I'm keeping an open mind on Outsulin. I've been impressed by what I've seen on the ad agency's website & give them the benefit of the doubt they know what they are doing. Take a look at this campaign for children's pain management. www.precisioneffect.com/portfolio-item/pain-management/I can imagine a similar campaign for Afrezza once approved for pediatrics.

How about some eye candy for the female docs? Hah! You just reminded me of a tongue-in-cheek marketing suggestion I posted a very long time ago before I joined ProBoards and became all respectable and everything...
As I recall, it involved some advertising involving skimpily-clad men and women, along with the slogan: "Afrezza. The way nature intended."
---
I think I may have also jokingly lamented the "good old days" of employing sexuality to sell your product. I'm so glad that when it comes to marketing, nobody thinks about using sex anymore...ummm, right?

Hate is such a strong word to feel over a gimmick marketing name. I certainly don't see how its patronizing or offensive but that is just my opinion and I am not diabetic. If I asked my best friend who is a T1 on Afrezza (its changed his life managing the disease) what he thought of the name I bet he couldn't care less because of the positive impact the drug has had on him. I thought being diabetic you would know first hand its all about managing the disease the benefits of the drug and not a gimmick marketing name. I lived with him for many years and have been through the ups and downs of his disease with him and its really nice to hear how well the drug is working for him. I certainly cannot understand if the drug works that well for someone why a name would offend them.

I am so happy I did not get yelled at! I refrained. I find it interesting that we have so much discourse on the medical, finances and legal - even conspiracy theories. And yet where the company failed (sales/marketing) is considered a waste of time to discuss? Reverselo - yours is case in point. If the name doesn't matter that much - isn't the possibility of wasting time and money on a rebrand when we just had to sell stock at $1/share a problem? That's my point. I don't like Outsulin. But whatever. I don't like the idea of them wasting money and time on it now. Or on really bad ideas in an expensive trade show booth. And why would discussing bimbo/himbo booths be so much more compelling? There is plenty of 'sizzle' to be had in a booth without being disrespectful. The issue of bimbo/himbo approach is not that you catch passing (and likely forgotten) attention of a few that haven't gone past their adolescence or are HR incidents in the making. Its the people you offend. Permanently. And they are there. It costs way more to fix that, if you even can.

Its the people you offend. Permanently. And they are there. It costs way more to fix that, if you even can. I initially didn't want to type that because you used the word hate also and you unintendedly become collateral damage on my comment to aged hippy. While I am far from a point of view that MNKD can do no wrong I sometimes wonder if AgedHippy has an agenda. He certainly doesn't act like a hippy. I don't feel the peace love and happiness..... I think every shareholder has a right to question every move they make. You would be foolish not too. Whether they knew (MGMT)or not and from what point if SNY was marketing it properly I get why you would second guess. Its corny. I agree with you a 100% but we dont know how and if they plan on using it. There is an NBA player Anthony Davis coming out of college he branded the brow because he has a unibrow. He now shapes his eyes brow because who really wants a unibrow? My point is its dumb and corny but he coined the phrase. If you really want to get mad about wasting money why did Jurgens just get almost a million shares? I am sure that cost far out weighs branding outsulin. If they dont use it no one will get offened. There are a ton of posters here that act like they are in high school with there little thumbs up crowd to one another. Just like they have to put up with our skeptiscim, critiscim of ideas we have to put up with their faith that it will all work out. While I am critical of plenty of things I am not rubbed the same way you are on this topic.

Great find. This is an example of a truly powerful message. Shots or IVs are terrifying to kids. They don't do much for me either. This is precisely the kind of message I hope they produce for Afrezza!

Does MannKind make a holster for the Afrezza inhaler?
...and just so you cannot accuse me of being sexist, here's a cosplay guy for liane (& the rest of you):
I think that may be a Dreamboat hanging from his neck...
(NOTE: I had to replace the original image, which was cool, because it was copyrighted.)
