What kind of foot traffic might we expect for Booth #360 MannKind Corporation? It certainly helps that traffic flowing into the convention hall from the two main gates (Gate 4 & Gate 5) will be blocked by Product Theater 1, which may result in conventioneers walking by MannKind's booth to access the main floor. The nearby Cajun Creole food court may have a peripheral effect as well.
It might also be interesting to also take a look at the booths immediately adjacent to MannKind, since visitors to those booths will also notice Booth #360 where MannKind Corporation will be exhibiting Afrezza and Technosphere. So who are the Neighbors?
Let's take a look:
Booth #358 IRIS - Intelligent Retinal Imaging Systems - Diabetic retinopathy screening
Diabetic retinopathy is the leading cause of preventable blindness in the United States in people 20 to 65 years of age. www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=iris+diabetes+screening
Booth #364 - Valeritas
Makers of V-Go Disposable Insulin Delivery Device (pump) www.valeritas.com/
Booth #365 - Shire
The drugmaker is now focusing its efforts on newly launched website, HealTogether.com, an online resource for people and communities afflicted with diabetes and diabetic foot ulcers (DFU). A study published in JAMA estimates that 25% of people with diabetes will eventually suffer from a DFU. www.healtogether.com/
Booth #359 - Intarcia Therapeutics
ITCA 650 (continuous subcutaneous delivery of exenatide) is being developed for the treatment of type 2 diabetes. The investigational therapy employs Intarcia’s innovative technology platform, the Medici Drug Delivery System™, a proprietary subcutaneous delivery system comprised of three unique technologies: osmotic mini-pump technology; mini-pump placement technology; and our high temperature therapeutic stabilization technology, to provide continuous and consistent drug therapy for up to a full year. Exenatide, the active agent in ITCA 650, is a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist that is currently marketed globally as twice-daily and once-weekly self-injection therapies for type 2 diabetes. When approved, ITCA 650 will be the first and only once or twice-yearly, injection-free GLP-1 therapy. Intarcia Therapeutics recently completed the ITCA 650 FREEDOM global Phase 3 clinical trial program. Regulatory filing in the U.S. is targeted for end of 3Q, 2016.

---
It may be categorized as an idle time pursuit to bother assessing how the number of visits to our neighbors' booths might translate into visits to Booth #360 MannKind Corporation, but there is no denying that the proximity of Gates 4 & 5 and the main floor being blocked by the Product Theater will result in increased traffic flow down the aisle where MannKind's booth is located.
I hope Mike's team puts up a great booth the attracts lots of visitors.

Nice sleuthing Mnholdem, and I agree with your traffic analysis. It's also nice to see MNKD bought a double size booth to display from. Means they have room there for a sit-down, small round table with chairs. Hopefully, that table will get good use! Aloha.

Crossing my fingers. IMHO, the location could be good, it could also be really bad.
I think Holdem, you covered the good possibilities.
The bad is that because their back is up against the theater, and are bounded by two sides - they only have the one direction to present the booth. And then with that, depending on their neighbor's signage, SHIRE and VALERITAS may effectively block their view from the main drag passing Cajun restaurant and theater.
But you never know. Maybe the MKND signage is high and in neon and will tower over the other booths. Maybe SHIRE's storefront is low and will afford direct visibility to MNKD. Maybe the foot traffic through the gates will naturally flow by because something tantalizing is directly ahead down the walkway.
Maybe Mike will have someone opposite that entrance gate, standing in walkway, dressed in a giant Dreamboat costume with a water pump built in to generate mist that fires towards the booth ..... LOL.
Hopefully someone on the board can attend and take some pics like last time.
Godspeed MNKD team.

I'm not familiar with the site, but I think we need more information for a real traffic analysis. For instance, what percentage of people enter at gates 4 and 5 versus the other gates, not to mention any non-gate entrances? Do gates 4 and 5 exit to the street, or to the session rooms and the rest of the conference rooms? If I look at the big floor-plan, it sort of looks like the main entrance is on the entire left side of the exhibitors hall, and gates 4 and 5 are non-prime entrances. I don't know that this is the case, just stating how it looks to me from the full map. www.afassanoco.com/ada/currentfloorplan.pdfI trust we'll get on-site reports from people there soon enough.

There is an entry to the left corner of theater, left side of Mannkind's booth, that's a plus.

I like the seating of the Cajun Creole. What if someone is taking a meal time break and uses his inhaler with line of sight to the MNKD booth.

I don't know that this is the case, just stating how it looks to me from the full map. After pulling up the Morial Convention Center Floor plan, and comparing it to the ADA map, the news is not as good as I'd hoped. Gates 4 & 5 are actually entrances from a service corridor in what is the BACK of the hall. Looking at the ADA Floor Map (link posted above) and comparing it to the center's online floor plan - which is too big to download here - it turns out that the main entrances to the exhibits are on the other side of the exhibit floor (the bottom edge of the ADA floor map).
So major gate traffic is NOT going to be at 4 & 5. However, the proximity of MannKind's booth to the Product Theater and Cajun food court is still much better than Booth #621 (the booth stated at the ASM) where MannKind was originally going to be located.

I would not discourage any share holders from going to the concession stand eating 5000 calories worth of food and when walking back stick their finger down their throat between Inartcia and Bayer. This would cause a helpful traffic pattern for MNKD!!!! I am kidding but not really

Put the beautiful Afrezza models in the booth & I guarantee you will have "traffic"! Now it's what you do with that traffic that counts... Lol

Is Mannkind giving a presentation during the conference? Will it be available to watch online somewhere?

thanks for the update HOLDEM.
Traffic is not going to be great organically. MNKD has a really tight budget, and events are expensive. Good real estate is $$$ (location, location, location)
My guess is that they are assuming their abstracts and presentations are going to be the primary traffic drivers. Hopefully, they did a marketing outreach to attendees to also drive more demand to booth for conversations.
I think the big mover tho will have to be solid delivery on those presentations.

How about Laura Kronen in the booth to help drive traffic. I might be a little bit in love with her

Maybe they will have Weezer at their booth since they'll be in town this weekend.
