So while I am not crazy about the purple gumbi I am withholding any judgement until I see how he is used in a advertising and marketing environment/context and how the overall media campaign and his/her use effects the consumer's awareness, product education and recall of the messaging. He has a work-out outfit on. How can you not love him! :-(. :-))) Sportsrancho - I just KNEW the moment that I saw the sweat band that you would fall in love with it. I wonder if anyone, besides me, thinks the little guy is supposed to be a Technosphere particle?

I like the purple/white gumbi. Afrezza colors. (Big head...hmmm) Looks speedy... long legs. looks fast. speedy and fast... afrezza.

Makes sense though, this little guy does everything fast! And for those complaining about missing fingers etc. animators prefer it, four fingers. Same thing with Mickey.

that makes it it a little more palatable ... a Technosphere Particle. Now just change the color to black n white like the best toons and give the guy some Feet, otherwise he might not have a leg to stand on

The colors and name imply that this character is Afrezza specific, not a generic Technosphere reference.
It feels to me that "to meet Outsulin" implies that it will be a supporting character for the marketing campaign, to indicate that it will work in tandem with Insulin in Afrezza to help it "Out" faster.
Perhaps the running reference has to do with a relay scenario, where the Insulin does it's work first and then passes the baton to Outsulin... This is purely speculation of course but I think that leaving the body faster
is the most important attribute of Afrezza that truly separates it from the rest.
Therefore the "Out" effect is going to be the key emphasis within the DTC campaign.

I think introducing the word Outsulin is really more significant than the character. I personally like the character, and would be fine with it being used. Since MannKind filed for a trademark for "Outsulin", and has now offically used it publicly, I'm really curious as to what their ultimate plan is for it. IMO the sole purpose of Castagna even introducing Outsulin by way of a corny joke was because it was better than just plainly stating they are going to be using it for xyz. A part of me wonders if the character was added for no purpose other than to have a visual element. I could be completely wrong, but I would assume they would have a trademark (or several) filed of the character if it were going to play an integral part for establishing Outsulin.
