It looks like Afrezza is plastered all over their homepage. Hopefully there are a lot of curious docs out researching today!

Wow, what a great article. Surely this article will get some good results for patients from doctors and insurers. This is about the best succinct paper I've seen on Afrezza. I hope MNKD sales people will put these around for people and professionals to see and read.

If we take these examples as more or less typical its more evidence that insurance and the endos themselves are impediments to obtaining Afrezza. MNKD has made inroads here with the endo list and MNKD Cares but it seems clear that the lack of knowledge that Afrezza exists and the clear need for demand from the patient side (through MNKD's direct to patient efforts which are just starting ) to push the endos to prescribe is vital. Unbelievable that Sanofi made it even more difficult by not providing the inhaler. Wonder how often this actually happened. Terrible marketing and sales strategy to "save refrigeration". Almost seems intentional given Sanofi's experience and MNKD is stuck with this problem , another fiasco, until November. The more time passes the more we learn about Sanofi's failure and ineptitude. What next?? Makes the blood boil.

Indeed. Can somebody please help me understand why the author would write such an article, given his board position with NN?

Indeed. Can somebody please help me understand why the author would write such an article, given his board position with NN? Could it be that someone still has a sense of fair play no matter who they work for? That's an uplifting thought.

Could it be that someone still has a sense of fair play no matter who they work for? That's an uplifting thought. He has retired from his teaching job after 45 years teaching there. He has lived as type 1 for 67 years. I think at this point of life he cares more about speaking the truth and spreading the information to help the diabetics. Author Information: The author retired from the Washington State University College of Pharmacy in 2013 after 45 years and remains a distinguished professor emeritus of pharmacotherapy. He has lived with type 1 diabetes for 67 years and has used an insulin pump for 37 years, 9 months. - See more at: www.ajmc.com/journals/evidence-based-diabetes-management/2016/september-2016/afrezza-treating-diabetes-in-a-physiologic-manner#sthash.4QWZ35U8.dpuf

I really liked this analogy by Professor Campbell:
"The PD effect of SC therapy is much like a super tanker: once launched, it can change course only very slowly. Patients have no choice but to adapt their schedules to meet the demands of insulin. Afrezza is more like a speedboat: its shorter duration of action permits navigation between the risks of hyperglycemia and the consequences of hypoglycemia."
Perhaps MannKind should consider changing the name of its inhaler from Dreamboat to something that sounds more like a racer?

Swift boat? Nah too political... Motor Boat? Nope no motor..., Maybe Cigarette Boat (like the racers)? Nah, that will just bring up the cancer issue again... I personally like DreamBoat as in a dream come true... Cheers!
