I was on Facebook and I get messages from various diabetes sites. I am not diabetic myself and I am long on MNKD. A person commenting on an article was angry about how BP is just managing diabetes and not going for a cure..etc. I asked if she had tried Affezzra and she shot right back "that stuff is gross"! I asked her what she meant and the reply was 'that stuff is insulin, do you know how baad insulin tastes?' I asked her if she ever used it and I hear nothing back. My question is : Does it taste really bad? Would that impact meal time use? Just asking. Thanks in advance.

Most all with an opinion. Chances are she has never tryed Afrezza and was just talking.
You can drink something. Afrezza goes down the trachea mostly.

I have never needed Afrezza, but I have tried other inhalers. Sometimes it is not the medicine that tastes funny, but the other ingredients. Primatine mist, an inhaled epi, was not something you wanted to get on your tongue due to the bitterness. Still not sure if I was tasting the epi or the propellant, but with good technique you taste nothing. Problem is that it takes a bit of practice to get it right and I am sure some people just give up.

Peppy, Thank you, that is what I thought. Thank you all!
Now, Dear Universe, I/we could use some great news to make MNKD's PPS pop UP! Come on Universe! (;

Injected insulin tastes gross, but that's down to the preservatives they put in it rather than the insulin.

Can you please comment on its taste?

I use it. There is no taste.
I also use Afrezza. There is NO taste at all. Another line of utter bullshit from a FUD spreader.

I use it. There is no taste.
I also use Afrezza. There is NO taste at all. Another line of utter bullshit from a FUD spreader. It's not really FUD, per se. Assuming the OP was not lying, it may legitimately show why some members of the diabetic community are staying off Afrezza. The statement was: "I asked if she had tried Affezzra and she shot right back "that stuff is gross"! I asked her what she meant and the reply was 'that stuff is insulin, do you know how bad insulin tastes?'" It may be that the person knew that injectable insulin itself tastes bad (from preservatives as some mentioned in this thread), and assumed that Afrezza was the same. If you read some other diabetes forums, you'll find many people also complain that after injecting insulin they sometimes get a bad taste in their mouth. This may be where some people are getting the 'insulin tastes bad' idea. Maybe this means that Afrezza should do more to promote its tasteless aspect.

The next evolution of Afrezza will be flavored Afrezza. Would you like cinnamon, peppermint, strawberry... endless possibilities.

The next evolution of Afrezza will be flavored Afrezza. Would you like cinnamon, peppermint, strawberry... endless possibilities. The less additives you put in your lungs, the better, flavor or otherwise. If it ain't broke... To wrap this thread up: multiple actual users have confirmed that Afrezza is tasteless. To follow up, I will try to get MNKD to put this in their FAQ. Will also suggest the flavored version, especially for kids.
