the question is can it sustain this pop today and price in the coming days? My guess based on history is we'll see the pps recede back to the 6-7 level unless more firms come out with buy recs with a healthy pps. Problem is, the street is still skeptical that Afrezza can sale.

Exactly, mnkdmillionaire, the traders are all over this today, as they are anytime a stock has big news. They will buy and sell many times over each today, ballooning the volume to ridiculous levels. It's not all short covering and it's not all long term investors final getting in or buying more, it's mainly guys that may have never heard of Mannkind, let alone Afrezza, making this their poker table du jour.
A partnership would do wonders toward silencing all the financial media BS.

it will take no more than a week for awareness to spread. Look at the coverage in NYTIME to Bloomberg. Pension plans and hedge funds will initiate positions. I believe this will no longer be a stock supported by only retail investors. We will see one more week of volatility and than dust will settle. PP will find support in upper 7s eventually untill FDA approval. After FDA approval, it really is upto management how early then can manage partnership.
I am not worried about cancer risk crap. it is way below even general population SEER data if I read correctly (non smokers only). Both non-smokers developing cancer were above 65 age (when lung cancer possibility is highest).
Hearing Endocrinologists, i believe this will be a huge type 2 opportunity. On average, T2s delay upto 5 years going on insulin due to in-convenience. True they have to start with basal along with it (preferred by Endos) but as they said, it will be so easy for Endos to convince patients to go on 1 shot per day of SC and manage rest with Afrezza.
And, it won't take long before wall street spots the potential of T2 market for MNKD. I think market will start reacting to its future potential and nervousness will go away in couple of weeks.
I just hope that Al doesn't go crazy and decide to go on his own. That would be disaster.

Problem is, the street is still skeptical that Afrezza can sale. Typically, the biotechs I have followed gain 20-30% in the 2 or 3 days following a positive AdCom. I know, MNKD isn't your typical biotech, with a market cap approaching 3 Billion, and more dilution built in. It would've been nicer to get this bounce from the 5.50 - 6 level where we hung the last couple months though. Edit - that's in addition to the initial first day run-up.

I would think that would be appropriate at the start just to get the partners foaming at the mouth to get in on the action until the very last ounce of money is left to use then bam partner at a 80/20, 80 being us of course:)
