With all of discussions and explanations about scripts numbers still a bit of confused. With 700 salespeople of SNY who were not doing a great job and doctors expecting MNKD to close down vs 40-70 salespeople of MNKD who doing their best and doctors slowly but steadily turning towards Afrezza why same numbers? Week after a week if salespeople exist and work being done the number MUST go UP, cos new doctors are involved on a weekly basis. Or previous doctors kept forgetting to prescribe the other week or in the current week no one visited or no one willing to prescribe? Or the same SNY established list of so so prescribing doctors visited(?) ONLY? It is like in real estate business, team is going around getting leads but previously made deals are giving referrals and second deals if service was good. Met a guy without a leg (cos of diabetes) and carefuulllyyy ask him about Afrezza - he never heard of it. Is it a room in a $ 10 mil monthly burn rate for a billboards to let people know not only about Coca Cola or real estate agents in the neighbourhood? P.S. Cost of billboard is 10k.

Bill board ruled out because of boxed warning. Lengthy. nylefty said he had never seen a 30 second pharma TV ad, all 1 minute for warnings.

As I've said before there's a reason why prescription drugs are never advertised on billboards. There's no way to include the FDA required warnings in way that would be comprehensible to someone in a passing car.

How about merely advertising general concepts such as inhalable insulin, ultra rapid acting insulin, fast in fast out, etc. on one or a series of billboards without ever saying affrezza? Maybe even including a dreamboat like device on one?

Cost of billboard is 10k. until Avril 2015, the scripts number were good . And then when the new CEO of Sanofi was coming on board in avril 2015 , the scripts number were pathetic since that day . Unfortunely, Sanofi changed CEO , and the new CEO doesn't like Afrezza at al so 700 Salesforce, they may spend only 10% of their time on afrezza max .

Actually, derek, I dont believe you are correct that an ad to a general concept would be considered as a reminder ad, since Reminder ads give the name of a drug, but not the drug's uses. The idea of advertising a general concept is similar to a reminder ad but is another step removed as it doesnt actually name a drug, maybe it would be closer to subliminal advertising. Even if it would be ok, it would probably be a reach to think that advertising the general concepts would be enough to educate someone with no knowledge of afrezza. just something that came up during a 6 hour drive staring at coutless billboards...

Actually many drug companies use company sponsored (as opposed to drug specific sponsored) topical references such "new ways to control your diabetes" and then refer people within the ad/or content for more information to a web site where they can they show all the disclaimers and reveal whatever message about their drug they want too. I actually did this for a prescription pharma product inside a broadcast network program in primetime a few years back.

This topic isn't actually one of my strengths. I live in Canada, and the rules governing drug advertising here are very different, and somewhat bizarre. So yes, I could be wrong on that.
