Yup. Seriously, a measly $220M market cap? If i had that, I'd buy up every share and put an end to this ugly trend..

It looks like there are some interested in keeping a 1:10 at less than $5.00. By policy, that would keep certain institutional buyers at bay. Suppression, suppression, suppression.
Not saying that a 1:10 is guaranteed, but it appears that the market thinks so, and that they want to hinder any benefit that may provide MNKD, once effected.
Unfortunately, timid holders, which, by now, I would think should be few, could also create a self-fulfilling muted benefit of the reverse split by getting out in mass and lowering the price, to hopefully get back in with a small gain. No judgement - just that if this is the case, it plays the reverse split right back into the shorts hands.
All very frustrating. Still holding.

I went here and did a stock screening for companies between 3 & 5 dollars and over a half million shares of recent institutional buying. www.wsj.com/public/quotes/stock_screener.htmlMany of the stocks haven't been above five dollars for many years -- if ever. This is the results: 326 Matches for: Stocks that have institutional shares bought greater than or equal to 500001 for the previous reported month, and have a closing price between $2.00 and $5.00 as of 2/23/2017.

3,167,747 real time trades at the half. 6,248,188 shares traded with two hours to go. it used to be MNKD shares would trade 3 million dollars worth of trades a day. we have seen that so far today. A high volume day. www.nasdaq.com/symbol/mnkd/real-time

Peppy, I am some what new to investing. I understand the basics of investing, but I have still yet to even begin to understand application of the theories. So, I was wondering what your opinion is on why they high volume? For some reason I want to say it is anticipation of an event or change in the price. Is the market sensing something coming? This volume is quite high compared to what we have seen in a while correct? Thoughts?

At this moment I am hoping it is a selling crescendo. we need the sellers to stop. we need the buyers to be strong hands.

It's not a complete myth, it is just that the policy is not as stridently held to as it once was. Also, I think it always had more to do with holdings in funds, and never applied to all institutional buying.

I just called Schwab lending office and they said that demand for MNKD shares for short loaning is relatively "quiet".

We may have bottomed out here. I hope anyway. We just went slightly green on good volume.

We may have bottomed out here. I hope anyway. We just went slightly green on good volume. A double bottom at 0.41 would be fine with me.
