Copying and pasting mikes responses to a recent Afrezza basher. Not going to provide the link to the URL because I do not want to promote the website in any way... if you really want to I'm sure you can find it.

I don't appreciate your long stream of false accusations about MannKind. I can promise you all the stories you read are true. I don't have time to get into a war of words with you. I don't know where you are located but I travel a lot and happy to meet face to face. Making false accusations below and then posting a YouTube video of some vitamins that have never been proven to work in a clinical trial is somewhat funny. I am a pharmacist and come from a family of diabetics so my first position in healthcare is to do no harm. I believe you are misinformed on several facts:
1) we stand behind our data and there isn't a concern about lung cancer from our perspective. We have studied the product in over 60 studies in thousands of patients and none of our preclinical or safety database identify any signals of increased cancer risk. I don't want to minimize your concern, but please at least understand the clinical data before you make false statements
2) the patients you see online are real and not paid. If they want to share their success and outcomes I can't control that. I don't promote that people eat unhealthy whether they are a diabetic or not. However these people are enjoying food with their family and getting incredible results. I too was skeptical, but have met these people and ate with them to witness it first hand. This is why I took the job, we change people's lives. You don't get to do that very often
3) I have and would recommend this product to my own family members who I love dearly. I myself will take it when my pancreas starts to fail me.
4) there is nothing out there that works as fast as Afrezza. This quick onset is what sets us apart. The data was presented at ADA and submitted to the FDA for a label change. This onset is one reason it gives people flexibility to manage their sugars bc you can take it when your food arrives and it is out of your body in 2-3 hours
5) my offer stands to meet you and I will bring a type 1 patient with me for you to ask them questions etc.
If you fail to accept to meet them I will assume you have no real desire to change you position and will continue to spread falsehoods. That is your choice, but I stand behind our product and our data. I am a person first, father second, pharmacist third and corporate executive that cares immensely about patients. I hope you find the willpower to enjoy life and control your disease. I am not here to convince you Afrezza is a great drug that is for you to try and find out on your own with your doctor. I would just ask you talk to people about their experience before trashing them bc what you see is the way they live. I know it's hard to believe but that is why they are happy and share their success bc they have freedom like they have never had. Diabetes is a devastating disease that locks in all aspects of your life and that of loved ones. I hope you find a way to free yourself of those challenges, but criticizing and scaring innocent people who are trying to help others is purely not being kind as they are real people struggling or have struggled for many decades just like you. I don't and would never say we clean the liver etc, but bc your lung has such a large surface area we do get to your Alpha cells quickly...again data presented in 2010 that documented this but ignored by the medical community. You have a right to know the data and anyone here at Mannkind is happy to answer your questions. In the end all I ask is please be respectful of others and don't call people liars etc that you don't know or haven't talked with directly.
