If this is indeed launch 3.0 with MNKD sales reps hitting the streets tomorrow, how soon before we see a nice rise in script numbers? My guess is it will be at least 6 weeks...

I believe Mike guided to 3 - 6 months. 6 weeks - 2 months may be aggressive but doable; more reasonable would be 3 - 4 months.

I think we will see a small steady script rise over the next few months, followed by TV and internet ads that begin the pivot point upwards in script #s.

VDex will help in the fact that people can just walk in or call. Word of mouth will will spread there, and in the neuropathy clinics.( Now the people that they have told about Afrezza will have a place to go and get a script and not have to wait two months to get a appointment with a doc.

Mike has told us he has been working for insurance company agreements. He has said some progress being made. He is telling us insurance coverage is key now. If, Type 1 can get/have insurance coverage, endos might start suggesting afrezza. I have come to believe insurance prescription coverage and happy titration/dosing seems key. We get to see what Mike has accomplished.

Small specialty sales forces can have a significant impact. I have seen 50 reps achieve $100M in sales for a drug in a much smaller market. If they can get a handful of docs comfy with dosing education and get patients titrated quickly and appropriately, look out!

Was over the bridge into jersey and went with someone to a "Doc's in a box as they are so called / pretty impressed , didn't realize the quality / and state of the art testing that was available ... people who need a fast work up for work related matters / with lab results /basic / hope VDEX can achieve that same type of concept... lot going on out there!

I'm very confused. I thought VDEX was now all but dead? Not true? If VDEX is not finished, how many VDEX clinics are currently in operation? Is there more than one in California? Are there any of them anywhere else? Anything happening with your work-out doctor acquaintances? Just curious and starving for relevant information.

That would certainly be an optimistic reference point. Though details also matter. Some drugs are truly the only treatment available. It might have been a small market such as a rare cancer where it was a first of kind treatment... then they might quickly get 100% of the small market. We obviously believe Afrezza is unique but many docs are still viewing it as "yet another" prandial... and one with poor payer coverage. Still, the right reps that have established relationships with docs will hopefully start to turn the script trajectory.

There is one VDex open and doing well in CA. They just put up new testimonials:-) Look under the Some Good News thread for up date on Rancho Medical. Did you ever hear from Mike?

Hello Proboards! We at Vdex want to say “Thank You” for all the well wishes over the past year or so as we’ve been getting started. As most of you know, we have opened our first facility in Canoga Park, CA. Things are progressing nicely there. We have aggressive expansion plans, but all those plans ultimately are subordinate to quality patient care. We want to get that right first.
We have a lot planned for 2017. Inevitably, things will alter our course somewhat, but our essential mission will stay unchanged: we intend to dramatically improve the care for all people with diabetes.

Still, the right reps that have established relationships with docs will hopefully start to turn the script trajectory. Was not a cancer therapy and the market had multiple treatment options. Mnkd just needs to have each rep convince 10-15 docs to really buy in to the therapy. As long as that small subset can get patients titrated and adhere to therapy this will be bought out. Just my opinion.

If this is indeed launch 3.0 with MNKD sales reps hitting the streets tomorrow, how soon before we see a nice rise in script numbers? My guess is it will be at least 6 weeks... 80 reps making 6 calls per day minimum, or 480 calls per day will have an effect. Likely not as fast as we want, but very soon.
