This is the view that I keep reading that I question. I'm sure there are endos out there that are too scared or busy to learn/try new things, but this does not describe the medical field in general to me. As a physician, I'm of course biased. But I think most physicians strive to keep up with the latest literature, and do what is best for their patients. That's why we went into medicine. There are of course exceptions and bad seeds, but in general, they have the patient's best interest in mind. And we enjoy learning (that's the only way to get through that much school). So I'm looking for the disconnect.
In dermatology, there are many older physicians scared of the relatively new biologic medications for psoriasis. They'll continue to slap topical medications on. But it would be EASY to find another dermatologist that is more up to date with newer treatment options. I don't think all endos are just too busy or corrupt to seek out the best treatment option for their patients that aren't well controlled. If your dads endo is scared of it, has he tried to seek a second opinion? Is MNKD just not doing enough to educate? Something is missing.
