Age/ what are you missing or should I say ! Trying to miss .it is about the sales derived from this technology... onedrop : AFREZZA combo . Once a person can say "Alexa, I think I want to try Afrezza, please locate a doctor willing to prescribe via a phone consult and then get me prior authorization with my insurance, and Prime over the box... I'll pay for next day shipping to get it tomorrow" then it will be technology interesting for sales. I think what Aged and I were both trying to point out is that OneDrop probably doesn't have any special backing from Amazon... and (my belief) quite frankly even if they did, what is holding Afrezza back is doctors and insurance, not the distribution chain. Definitely important points to consider and I appreciate your knowledge on the matter. That being said I think we still have to think a little outside the box here in terms of what the possibilities are or might be. I know that we have been burned thus far but that doesn't mean that there can't be enormous opportunity especially as it pertains to new technology and the will/determination of powerful players such as Amazon. I think that Dachis provides a very interesting level of insight when it comes to technology AND promotion. I'm all for a master promoter helping the MNKD team to get the word out and win more early adopters. It doesn't take much to turn the boat around at this point given that the bar is low, and if we can convert some of the One Drop user base, it could make a huge difference. We are in at least a two front war, fighting the established paradigm as represented by the doctors, insurance and PBM on one side and at the same time trying to appeal to those willing to embrace new technology to make their lives easier and better. With or without Bezos' blessing, if Alexa can be made to make effective diabetes treatment more accessible, more attractive, easier then I think it is an important data point to consider especially in light of Afrezza's many unique attributes we are all well aware of. What we are being forced to witness here (as MNKD shareholders) is a technology adoption cycle contained with an entrenched Byzantine system, however, we have an ally in the internet and with companies such as Amazon, Apple and One Drop not to mention social channels such as Twitter. Here is a quote from the link just provided: "Rogers proposes that four main elements influence the spread of a new idea: the innovation itself, communication channels, time, and a social system. This process relies heavily on human capital. The innovation must be widely adopted in order to self-sustain. Within the rate of adoption, there is a point at which an innovation reaches critical mass."
In deference to Aged and DBC sober advice, I reiterate what I said at the beginning of this thread which is that this is speculation, but as long as you know that it is part of the investment process and shouldn't inform your entire decision, I think it is useful and educational. I leave you with this link showing the Alexa Diabetes Challenge going on now: www.alexadiabeteschallenge.com: The Challenge calls on innovators to create Alexa voice-enabled solutions to improve the lives of those with type 2 diabetes. Whether or not Jeff Bezos has anything to do with this, people are making use of his tech and it is our job as shareholders and investors to figure out how it might change the landscape for the worse or, hopefully, the better. It is my belief that per Al Mann's genius, Afrezza occupies a very advantageous position to leverage and benefit from these ongoing new and exciting developments.

@jiaw277... Seems too late to submit. Will be interesting who they select as finalists.
To me the most exciting opportunities for Alexa would be in helping people with disabilities... blindness, paralysis, etc. Wonder if they've had similar challenge(s) in that area.

It's becoming a well know fact "AMAZON" would like to get in the PBM BUISNESS ... might be a little tough with dog bones, screwdrivers, drills , they might have a slightly better chance with a onedrop/AFREZZA package . I'm all in favor of Amazon getting into the PBM business because I have yet to find a PBM I don't hate so competition is good. Ultimately I don't think they will do it because Amazon is really a technology company, and it's difficult to see how a PBM isn't a regulated logistics company (with really bad customer relations). If Amazon want to go down this path could they please buy Rite Aid for their PBM and take these RAD shares off my hand? Worked at Amazon before and "technology company" it is not. In the good sense. In contrast to the "technology company" Microsoft on the other side of the Washington lake, Amazon has already been a consumer company which happened to hit a few technology advances. AWS just happened.

Behavior change and medication adherence. We've got that especially with a One Drop partnership. From the article: “Companies focused on delivering behavior change are the ones to watch in this industry,” Troy Bannister, lead academy analyst with StartUp Health, told Healthcare Dive. Bannister argues behavior change is the most challenging part of diabetes management.
“It is incredibly hard to try and encourage behavior change like exercise, diet and medication adherence,” he said. And the problem is only getting worse with the clinician shortage, he added. "We will need to find ways to incentivize people to change their behaviors.”

Mary Meeker via Kleiner Perkins said in her 2017 report on tech and the internet that digital health is at an inflection point. If this is the case then I think MNKD could potentially be well positioned to hopefully capitalize on an accelerating adoption curve. Here is her report.
