Back in January, some of us did Coco, then known as "Cocokitty," wrong when we harshly questioned her motives in posting stuff about Margaret Hamburg, head cheese at the FDA, and her hedgie husband. Many here, including Spiro, Chad and I jumped to the incorrect (but at least somewhat warranted) conclusion that Cocokitty was here to stir up trouble. As it turns out, Cocokitty, now, more palatably, "Coco," was just a neophyte to message boards, although not to biotech investing, where she is certainly no "kitty."
Coco showed at the meeting today, and, along with her two fellow RN's (aka "Lynn" and "Dollydimplesrn"), we're absolutely great folk! Beyond that, she grew up near where I did, and we both attended what is now the same high school, although way, way back when Coco attended, the two Catholic high schools were separate, but across the street from one another. And if that's not sufficient, well, she and her two buds got tossed out of the Embassy Hot Tub late last night - I mean, is there anything more she could have done to show she's totally on board with MannKind?
After the reception she got on this board with her maiden post, I can't blame her for her vow never to post again (she said some pretty hurtful things herself in that thread, sniff, sniff). After the meeting, when I suggested that she should post more, she told me why she hasn't in the past in no uncertain terms. I sort of laughed uneasily until she informed me that I was one of the dispicable people that jumped her. "Oh," I think I mumbled. For a moment, I flashed to the movie "Carrie" and just hoped that Al Mann wouldn't be caught in Coco's righteous vengeance.
It just goes to show, that even Spiro, Chad and Baba can all be wrong about the same person, which is something I would never have thought possible! And besides, I have a feeling Chad is one of those docs that just terrorizes nurses, and he likely sensed Coco's nursisitude causing the hair on his neck to stand on end!
So I'm typing this in sack cloth and ashes, and hoping that she will forgive us (and learn to post correctly)!
PS "Cocokitty?" C'mon, Coco, what were you thinking? LOL!

You are hilararious !! I enjoyed meeting you today as well as all the other posters  I'm so glad I ventured out of my OC bubble to do so & of course meet the Mann himself He was such a gentleman ! He even kissed our hand after we shook his as I know you saw I had a fantastic time ! Lynn |

It's amazing how people including myself can jump to conclusions about people. It is easy to misjudge people on these blog boards buy what they say and write. Meeting all of you today has given me a new perspective. I have a face now to put to the post. I have a connection even though small but still a connection. That makes all the difference. When I wrote that post back in January, I was all excited and a bit nervous, but I bit the bullet and wrote the post. I did not expect the response that I got. The newbie that I am at posting that is, I though I would get some cool responses, but I was wrong. I was crushed and said that I would never write on this board again. We'll that has changed. I met all of you at the share holders meeting. You all are a bunch of great knowledgeable guys that I can learn from. I know you have to scrutinize the people on these boards as people pose to be someone they are not. I will frequent this board as I always have this time with a fresh perspective. There's definitely a "Wild, wild, West" aspect to message boards, but triply so financial boards due to the personal nature of the experience; everything can be seen as either "for you" or "against you". What we're constantly struggling with as moderators on these boards is finding the balance between allowing freedom of speech and maintaining what we consider to be a safe environment. Everybody makes mistakes; I've made some doozies by misjudging members' motives. Sometimes there's not really much to go on, and many of us (mods and non-mods alike) have seen such an array of psychos, bashers, narcissists, etc., that we can all to easily rush to judgment. On the bright side, I'm happy to say that the community here has coalesced into the only source of information about MNKD that I personally want or need to satisfy my requirement for information on my largest single investment. Liane has set the tone, and a seriously harmonious tone it is... so welcome to the choir!  |

Nice meeting some of you today. I just joined the Proboards. If you had your picture taken with Dr. Mann you owe me a thank you for being brave enough to go first and do what everyone wanted to do. Lynn, I'm glad you made it back to Orange County. So nice to be back in our little bubble.

I think we ought to ask the 3 nursies to plan the celebration party when we finally get FDA approval. A hot tub party sounds pretty interesting to me! Maybe we can do it in Vegas, where Al lives. I'm sure Big Al would love to attend.

Well, the moment really might call for draining the water from the tub and filling it with hundred dollar bills!
Our stock held up nicely today, after a little post meeting malaise (what, no news!!??). I still think there is some slow but sure covering going on.

I didn't want to create a new thread for this so I figured I'd share here as I met some of you yesterday !! So yes I'm on Facebook & I actually changed my profile pic to the one Baba took of us with Al yesterday I don't post about MK there often as 95% of my friends could care less about investing ./ but after watching the Motley FOOL video just now & hearing the blatant Lies that were said ( previous AdCom, lung issues & of course comparing us w/ the Bong sized Exubera I was Pissed!! So I put this on FB & shared the link to the Fool , criticism welcomed ( part of me selfishly doesn't want more people buying it as I'm hoping it goes on sale ,)) but I share this stock w/ everyone I know bc I don't want anyone coming back at me later saying " why didn't you tell me about this  " & I'm also a strong believer in Karma yep it's Fri Night on a 3 day holiday weekend but I have to work so , no fun for me ./ k sorry for rant / here's my FB post .. I just what to spread the word re: Mannkind I felt compelled to share this , not only bc of Mannkind ( I met the self made Billionaire CEO yesterday who has made more contributions to "mankind "during his 88 years on this Earth , with his scientific advancements than anyone else that I know of ) aside from that , one of many things I've learned during my hundreds of hours of DD is that I'll never trust these Motley Fools , nor "The Street" & you shouldn't either , This guy stated a blatant Lie & these yahoos ( most have back grounds not related to investing , more so PoliSci( politics ) , so I'm just giving you all who dabble in biotech stocks or stocks in general my personal opinion , which is that these tools are nothing more than effective MM's ( Market Manipulators ) who can scare people who haven't done their own due diligence into selling their shares , so .. Those of you who are retail investors like myself , don't believe a word that comes out of their mouths !! It should be Illegal !! There I said it !! Paid " puppets" who get $ for every click on their articles , so wrong !!! K , I feel better now |

No stress here I was just pissed when I watched that video ./ I deleted it on FB tho , not the appropriate place to rant about a stock I'm hoping to get called in on Mon for the extra shift I signed up for , well hoping & hoping not bc 3 shifts in a row is rough ! But if I do get to work I'll place a limit order ? the rest , I've got to wait til post approval ./ but I'm ready |
