Locating near the HQ of a giant bio-pharma that you are intimately familiar with is strategic in a lot ways. The least of which is probably because of a BO plan. My guess its just to be near the talent pool and surrounding ecosystem of companies in which to do business. Lots of coattails and contacts now nearby. Smart.

My guess its just to be near the talent pool and surrounding ecosystem of companies in which to do business. Lots of coattails and contacts now nearby. Smart. Smart maybe but there are various cities that are biotech hubs. Being "close" to a major pharma doesn't exactly have a lot of weight now a days. Castagna obviously reached out to fellow Amgen employees he knew who were no longer as "enthusiastic" to work for BP. I know you know that this is typical when ever someone leaves one business for another and needs to recruit talent. But we both know the big elephant in the room is $$$$. Mannkind is running out of money quickly and has yet to secure any significant amount of funding. BP won't touch Mannkind because they see the company as a soon to be corpse. But that doesn't stop those with "kooky" thoughts to believe that Mannkind is a golden ticket for some BP. Mannkind might end up being one of those companies where the technology was great but where Management sabotaged it. Al, Hakan, Matt etc made some really bad moves over the years. One being not raising money when the stock was at a high point after FDA approval.

Then why are you still holding your shares?

My understanding is that the realtor who found Mannkind the building, wait for it, worked for AMGEN as recently as 6 months ago. Another AMGEN plant / accomplice / conspirator! Unfortunately, this suggests a hostile and not a friendly takeover.

Oh the Amgen conspricacy is getting old.
Let's say Amgen buys mannkind on Monday. How much would they pay? 2 bucks a share? 2.50? Why would any of the super longs be happy with that?
