Castagna mentioned significant reductions in trial durations and costs. You don't need to be flashy to be good. Urbanski knew his way around the FDA process.

Quote: in order to pursue his passion for oncology at another company. reply: I do not know what there is to be passionate about in oncology.
That actually would be my oldest son as well, he is very passionate about his specialty, not so much from the clinical side but absolutely from the research side...he spent a year at NIH working with the very physicians that are in this documentary: clinicalcenter.nih.gov/ocmr/firstinhuman/index.html ...it is a very deep rooted and compassionate network of physicians when it comes to oncology especially with children. They are very very dedicated doctors, where they are far less concerned about the $$$ they will make compared to the progress they will make against the diseases. I can fully understand if that was truly Ray's motive. Joey, if Ray resigned based on his own motives, I believe one factor was he wanted out from the Mike regime. Mike may well be exactly what we need at MNKD, but Mike is such a strong personality, especially in contrast to the types that had been at MNKD, well, I can understand Ray wanting a change of scenery and a change in curriculum. I continue to believe Ray's departure was at least two-sided, if not precipitated by Mike. No problem for me, Ray may be smart, but smart is not all that we need. A big time endo taking his place would be a huge coup (or is that "coupe?"). A guy who has a name and even some respect among endo's and other docs that deal with lots of diabetics.

I pretty much agree with every word with the exception of one I would change the word personality and swap it with LEADER....we may have had nice guys in the past under Al's leadership but Mike is the first one that I believe is grabbing the bull by the horns!! I do believe it was a mutual decision to diverge paths, I'm giving Ray the benefit of the doubt that he truly is committed to the oncology arena.

And I've told people that I don't care how cutthroat he is in any phase of the business if he gets it done, time for nice guys to check out, and if he's the one to get us out of this mess, then I'm all for doing it his way!
