My thought, a bit simpler: he pissed off Mike. Maybe but since he had a new job already lined up on september 1st, to me that indicates he left of his own free will. If Mike had fired him, Mannkind would have planned to get a replacement before he was let go. My hope is that Locust Walk found someone to take on the costs of R+D for Mannkind, maybe it's a third party with a similar agreement as receptor or perhaps they are planning to bring in their own CMO. I hope Ray did not leave on his own volition, that would not dovetail well with the rosy future many predict for the company. IMO, he was asked to leave, and likely given time to find a position.

Today's pr stated he started 9/1. The company's website is out of date at this point because it has a new name.
A side note on reverse splits since we all love them so much. This company announced a 300-1 RS. Stock was trading at $.06, then opened at $18 on 8/21. Looks like its going to close at $8 today. Fun with numbers: If MannKind also did a 300-1 reverse split we'd have a $594 stock to brag about!

We'll find out soon enough. I'm pretty sure that the departure of an Officer or Director is a material event that must be reported [5.02] on an 8-K filing.

I wouldn't necessarily think it horrible even if he decided to leave. He has options he gets to hold onto. Seems he's moving to a company that matches his oncology background better. I'm sure he didn't like having to sell/kill off that division. Plus I wouldn't be surprised if Sports isn't right and that they may sell off all of TS to fund Afrezza, thus shutting down the pipeline (though credit to me as well if it happens as I've posed that as a possibility ever sense the firm was hired to shop pipeline assets).

Pfizer failed inhaled insulin with Exhubra. If I were Urbanski I'd keep Pfizer off my resume too. Probably juiced his application. I'd say he wasn't Mike's man. Bring in some proven talent. Ray was an "Also Ran" .

Urbanksy was from the prior regime so it would not be a surprise if this is coming from Mike and he has another sharp replacement. The PR may be waiting for the replacement to officially leave a current position to be able to make an announcement. Obviously the price action really didn't flinch so looks like it's a non-issue and actually may be construed positively with any announcement. Unless you were on the other side of the coin, then the price flinched a lot! GT Biopharma Inc Quote & Summary Data OXISD $8.4* -2.58-23.50 % *Delayed - data as of Sep. 7, 2017

Sports either spot on or in the ballpark imo. Could be an outright sell of TS or perhaps an exclusive tech license deal of some kind. Makes sense that a twenty year old technology needs to go somewhere it can be invested in and synergistically applied across multiple therapeutics. Maybe Mnkd reserves the rights to use it on selective agreed pipeline areas. Anyway think of a 3-4 year runway on an emerging best (only) in class Afrezza. Blockbuster does come to mind. Fast forward and shorts and the street will hammer us as a one trick pony on the cusp of genericland. Strike that thought. A lot can change and let's enjoy the next few years.

I'm calling that they no way in hell will sell all of Technosphere IP. If it isn't sold it would probably be because no one wanted to buy it. Mnkd has a responsibly to at least explore all possibilities. I'm sure selling technosphere IP has been discussed.

I agree with you. I do not believe he made the cut. He "left" Mylan and was a "consultant" for a year before we picked him up. It has always been questionable in my mind.

I'm calling that they no way in hell will sell all of Technosphere IP. I second that! Technosphere has way too much potential to let go of. Not to mention, future potential is hard to put a price on. GLTA!

GLTA! I can see that happening. It's either Afrezza or TI and only Afrezza is generating an immediate cashflow. The route would be to sell TI and keep a license to use it in future Mannkind products.

I see them making more licensing deals for sure. Out right selling it, I don't think so. IMO
