Is this company a real threat to the long term viability and proprietary assets of mnkd? An Alphabet-backed startup wants to turn injectable drugs into pills, pulling in $100M to do it - www.cnbc.com/2017/09/09/rani-therapeutics-raises-100m-to-turn-injectable-drugs-into-pills.htmlI've been quietly watching proboards for some time, and I have been pretty patient holding my position the last few years. I was lucky to sell after FDA approval but bought in again after the partnership was terminated (presplit). My question is whether insulin pills are even a viable option and does it threaten the URAI supreme nature of the Tsphere? Just thinking of needle fear, etc etc. I know there are smarter and more informed posters here I'd love to tap for insight. Sorry if this is already discussed in another thread.

Sorry if this is already discussed in another thread. • Rani's Pill delivers an intestinal injection without exposing the drug to digestive enzymes. The patient takes what appears to be an ordinary capsule, but our "robotic" pill is a sophisticated device which incorporates a number of innovations, enabling it to navigate through the stomach and enter the small intestine. The Rani Pill™ goes through a transformation and positions itself to inject the drug into the intestinal wall. With deep experience in engineering and material science, we designed the Rani Pill™ to ensure that the drug stays protected within the pill until injected. • Diabetes Pipeline includes a GLP-1 analog and a Basal Insulin + GLP-1 Analog Combination. • Is not suitable for all drugs • They are also partnered with Novartis and MedImmune via Astra Zeneca. Novartis is known for fraud and corruption. Google has turned into a police state as well. • Does this look like something you would want to take?

Swallowing a micro robot. Hmmm.... Also, this will not compete with Afrezza as it will be waaaaaay too slow.

The robots will be swallowed and position themselves in place waiting for the signal to do the injection. All you need to be sure is the dosage and you only need to know it three days in advance. Unless you are having a running stomach, in which case you actually can shorten the time to one and half days.

Is this company a real threat to the long term viability and proprietary assets of mnkd? No. They are years from having this on the market and by that time we will be hugely successful or dead.

It is an inactive hexomeric..no matter how delivered is to slow in and out..thus not a threat...except a higher hypo risk to the patient then Afrezza and less glucose control then Afrezza...

Thanks everyone! Sounds noble but not threatening. Noted.
Also, no its not something I'd want to take, but thankfully I don't have to decide between that or needles...
