Sorry, If I'm Mike I let Sanofi bid on any possible deals but I only use them to get a better deal with someone else. All things being equal in a deal with Sanofi and another possible partner I'd take the other partner. But that's just me. Sanofi does not fit into the equation on any type of deal with MannKind.

BPs who have a reputation for screwing over partners find it harder to find new ones. There is a reason Sanofi has lost major deals to competitors over the past couple years. For years GSK had a reputation of being a non-compromising bully that hurts them in the M&A arena, IMO.
If you have never viewed the Kent Kresa interview about negotiating (I don't have the link at the mo') he rightly states that good negotiators look for win-wins where both parties' interests are brought to the table.

Did they ever? What’s different now? What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. You have to be willing to walk away...
