Sportsrancho and Afrezza have this in common - they are both one of a kind.

What IS it about Afrezza that inspires so much passion on both sides of the fence... I guess there are two kinds of people, the ones that fear the future, and the ones who embrace it. I’ve had people approach me to sell their products. Diet drugs, workout wear, protein supplements, make videos, even to do make-up product party’s. Hate those! Never done it. So boring:-) It’s been a long haul and I have a few close friends that just want to give up. But you have to let the past go and enjoy the process. We really are just getting started! What IS it? It’s blockbuster material, it’s life changing, it’s pulling the little Dreamboat out of your pocket and knowing you’re showing someone the future. It’s why Al was right...why Mike loves his job... why Vdex never gave up! Why Nate has been so consistent in his belief. Why we are all still here:-)

Why we are all still here:-) Afrezza is a blockbuster drug that can change the lives of so many worldwide. That is why Sports is so passionate like the rest of us. We see the potential that comes from helping diabetics live a better life. Yes we are also in it for the Money if Afrezza ever becomes the Game Changer Al Mann thought it would become. Yes I am in it for the money since its an investment but I have never been as emotionally attached to any investment as I have been in MannKind. To the point of blindness over the unbalanced financials of the company. Hoping and wanting a big player to come in and take a position in the company. Shocked that has not happened but than again maybe there is not enough money in just plain old Insulin. The big Pharma likes their doctored versions of injectable chemical/insulin products trying to define their own uniqueness with all the horrible complications they bring on. What is Afrezza? Just Insulin pretty basic that would changes lives across America and the world if we can show why its better than the products current available. Seyhey said in another thread: afrezza being the "natural" approach as opposed to the Frankenstein analog.

What was it that Al Mann once said? The world doesn't need more diabetes drugs. What the world needs is a better insulin (paraphrased).

Ironically, on the eve of Thanksgiving, I received my first package of Afrezza that I've waited to get since Feb of last year. Without going into too much detail I just want the board to know that I cannot be more impressed by the cohesive team at Mannkind from top down that made this possible. Also special thanks to Sports for helping me connect with one of the area managers that helped as well. I took my first 4 units ever and it was as easy as advertised, and not even the slightest tickle in my throat...in fact as I'm sure others have done, I had to look at the cartridge to evidence it was used. In a few weeks the Libre should be available and I have already signed up for it with Abbott so I will hopefully be on my way to constant monitoring and control of my BG. What's even better is that we had to select our option for insurance for the coming year and it looks like I will end up with Express Scripts so ADIOS UHC!! My take away and impression of the network in the sales area that is being developed by the company is that they are team players that communicate instantaneously and believe wholeheartedly in the product and the future of it and the company as well. My area rep was extremely helpful and actually went to my provider within hours to help with their understanding not only how urgent the situation was but referred me to the right pharmacy which maintains it in stock at all times....once the script was sent to the pharmacy, it was filled and at my doorstep within a few hours. It certainly is going to be a special Thanksgiving for my family as well as me personally knowing that I can say goodbye to Mr. Metformin while taking a much better approach to attacking my T2 diabetes. Thank you MIke C. & Team!!! and Happy Thanksgiving to all of you who have continued to support Al's vision, I know for a lot of you that you started it as an investment but also have endured quite a bit through the process. Without the investors continuing the fight, I'm not sure I would have received my Afrezza on the eve of this Thanksgiving. I sincerely believe the light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter. So I had my new labs done last Thurs. and just got my results this am. after 2 1/2 mos. on Afrezza my HbA1c dropped 2.9 pts. and this after having stopped any Metformin and not using any Basal. What's also interesting is that my cholesterol numbers improved as well. My follow up visits with my Primary and Endo should be very interesting, especially because I invited the local rep to come to the follow up with me next Friday, she's been trying to get into this office for awhile and they have made it very difficult....well they can expect a surprise visit, can't stop me from inviting her to my next visit Been wondering all day about how this visit went, especially if the MNKD rep was able to make the visit with jp&p.

Been wondering all day about how this visit went, especially if the MNKD rep was able to make the visit with jp&p. Sorry just seeing this Porkini, well unfortunately it didn't happen. 20 minutes before my (already rescheduled twice) appt. I rec'd a call from HPN (Health Plan of Nevada) office informing me that my primary was not covered by the new insurance...this after having confirmed and reconfirmed the appt. earlier in the week....needless to say I vented pretty hard at the poor gal on the phone that they rescheduled my appt. twice only to inform me of this at the last second. So I texted the rep and Monday am will be researching for a new primary...welcome to our annual health system lol. On the bright side I will not miss HPN or UHC for that matter as they went pretty much hand in hand. They did say since the script my primary issued was with 11 refills that they would move it to Express Scripts home delivery from CVS. I set up the home delivery earlier this week which means they will ship 3 mos of Afrezza at a time for $100 co-pay as opposed to $50/mo. co-pay at CVS. So essentially they're (Express Scripts) is passing on $50 savings to me by shipping directly to me

So to follow up I met with my new primary this afternoon, the rep could not make it due to the national sales meeting being held and conflicting time, however I did connect them over the phone and they will be meeting going forward. My visit could not have gone better, as expected (due to her being pretty young and a year out of residency) my new primary was very receptive and enthused about my orientation of Afrezza to her. The "small world" cliche applies here as we were conversing and it turns out she was pre-med with my son as they were both biochem majors in the same class as undergrads. To top that off, she was so enthused about Afrezza, she excused herself from the room and came back with her mentor who happened to know my wife and was her primary some years ago....the whole thing was crazy in a good way. I am very optimistic going forward with her and her getting her group more exposed to Afrezza as a viable option/alternative, we'll see how things progress and hopefully the follow up meeting with the rep also reinforces her enthusiasm. I'm sure the 2.9 point reduction in my A1c was what impressed her and opened the door as a nice conversation starter, the rest was easy and I did show her that 2 minute video that the T1 endo did from Brentie's thread titled - "What is Inhaled Insulin and Who is it for?" Will continue to update as things progress

Will continue to update as things progress Joey, winston smith has a libre now. Winston is letting it set up for the first 12 hours, and then his plan is to see what his blood glucose levels are doing. How often are you taking blood glucose reading off the libre? What is your set up? What have you found out about dosing? Suggestions on how to proceed? with dosages? both you and Winston are type two.

Regarding readings generally speaking every one to two hours while I'm awake. If spiking after a meal then usually every 30 minutes after taking a dose...until back in range which varies depending on type of meal. All Libre sensors take 12 hours after initial activation with the reader, so when the existing sensor tells you that you have 12 hrs remaining then you can apply the next sensor to your other arm so that it is ready when the current one expires. Hope that makes sense Thanks for the heads up Pep! I read Winston's post, the first thing I will let him know is that the refrigeration is over-hyped with Afrezza, it's pretty generic labeling due to the INFERIORITY of the other Raa's
