I'm sure this has been answered somewhere in this forum but not finding info. Does anyone know if MNKD will sell Afrezza direct? My fiance is a type-1; her insurance does not cover Afrezza. I have heard of some insulin companies working directly with persons who have trouble getting insurance to cover their product; I have even heard that Humalog will sell directly to you, cheap as dirt, if you can't find coverage and you call them directly and explain. Does anyone know if MNKD offers this?
She finds the notion of jumping through all the hoops, considerably too daunting. Trying to softly urge her to discuss Afrezza w/ her Endo. I think she'd be more keen on the concept if she knew she could actually acquire and use Afrezza in a manner that won't cost through the roof.

I wouldn't think it's likely, considering MNKD's financial state. Makes more sense that a larger corp could offer this to persons, while a smaller corp couldn't afford to do so; let alone tell anyone that they would. This said, you never know. If I were a type-1, I'd like to think I'd run out all the ground balls I could on getting the best insulin available. But, then again, I'm not a type-1, who has spent their life dealing directly with insurance hawks and a plethora of doctors in a constant rotating environment. I definitely get the perspective of the person who has type-1, who is just too tired to bother with one more phone call, or doctor. As for black market, that would have to be secondary resale.
