It would be nice if someone from MNKD would address your questions that I also share.

Risingskeptic wants to know also:
I'm still waiting for SOMEONE to tell me what HAPPENED to Mannkind's ALLEGED donation of afrezza to the unfortunate hurricane victims in Puerto Rico....

You could try emailing Rose.

I think it is odd that I posted this topic yesterday afternoon and it disappeared.... But yes, I will shoot Rose an email.
Couldn't find Rose's direct email so I sent it to ir@mannkind. I will follow-up if I get a response.

I suspect documenting how the Afrezza was used probably was not a priority for personnel on the ground while dealing with the aftermath of natural disaster.
Also, I would imagine if at all possible they would have tried getting people the type of mealtime insulin they were already on, so it's even possible most of the Afrezza went unused as very few patients would have already been using it at that point.
I believe MNKD had excess inventory at the time, so I don't think it would have either helped or hurt the bottom line.

As a donation it must have affected the bottom line for tax purposes... whether it was $100 or $100k worth of product.

Remember we still have like $2b in tax losses that carry forward... And we're still operating at a loss... So for tax purposes, no, this donation would have had pretty much zero effect on our tax liabilities.

But tax losses in the future ... or, near future ... will off set the HUGE GAINS !!!

Rose got back to me last night concerning this:
"The donations to Texas were made to Insulin for Life (a non-profit organization that provides diabetes medications and supplies to those that need them in developing countries), and were distributed by their medical teams on the ground on an as-needed basis. For the Puerto Rico donation, the folks with American Family Airlift worked with the Puerto Rico Department of Health, who then distributed donations as needed to medical clinics across the island.
There has been no follow-up demand from either organization."
Pretty much rehashing the original PR statements.

They should at least reach out to both organizations for feedback.

She did state that the individual handling the donations had been out for family matters/sickness. That was the reason for the delay in getting back to me.
