Boom! Baba is right again. No logic to this stock. Totally controlled by shorts, thanks to the tutes and retail share lenders. Inspite of today's late beat down, technicals are still in a shorter term bullish configuration. BUY, BUY, BUY (if you have a few bucks). Can not reconcile "no logic to this stock," "totally controlled by shorts" and "buy, buy, buy." Doesn't TA use logic to predict future stock movement? You declare it a "buy" b/c shorts are "controlling" it up? Seems to me either it is technicals OR shorts but can't be both governing direction. FWIW, I believe a stock needs "real" volume for TA to be valid and MNKD is news and event driven for the time being. All you have to do is watch the price action to know that the shorts are in control. That doesn't mean that technical analysis isnt reflecting bullish indicators. My current investment thesis is that these strong bullish indicators could draw interest in the stock from those who follow technical analysis which could create share price momentum drawing in momentum players, which would put a lot of pressure on the shorts, which could create additional bias to the upside. I admit it's a little contrarian considering what's happening on the business side. Also, not too much downside. Risk is only a $1 a share vs. large upside if things turnaround. Trend

trend, how much do "technicals" matter with this particular stock, and haven't they led us astray more often than not over the last couple of years? You would know more than me about this, so I'm curious what your perspective is on the topic. My amateur observation is that MNKD share price doesn't respond to technical indicators as much as it does other factors (event driven and/or controlled by nebulous "smart money" forces). I think we will find out soon about technical analysis and MNKD.

Seems to me that 1$ was a resistence Till days ago now acting as support.... that's good and probably meaning accumulaton. Boom! Baba is right again. No logic to this stock. BUY, BUY, BUY (if you have a few bucks).

Technical internals are getting more bullish every day as we gradually creep up here. The next major test will be at the $1.10 level where significant overhead resistance exists. Previous attempts to penetrate those levels in late January and early February were easily thwarted by the bears. Additionally the 50 day MA is currently at $1.10 which adds additional strength to the resistance. That being said, I am looking for another test of the $1.10 resistance. Because of the strong underpinnings of the other technical factors which I laid out in earlier posts, in my opinion the odds are in our favor that the $1.10 resistance will not hold and we will head to higher levels possibly testing the $1.50 level. If you believe in the MNKD story and have some extra dough, IMHO it's a good speculative buy in here.

Trend, I know the kind of TA you're doing works in many cases for all sorts of stocks. But I'm wondering about those very, very few stocks that have a short interest anything as horrific as ours? Baba, As always, you're very logical and your point is well taken. That being said, I'm just pointing out some technical indicators that are very important to the way I look at stocks. Unfortunately for me, I hid my head in the sand (drinking Koolaid) when these very same indicators turned bearish for MNKD. Hopefully the current bullish indicators portends good news for MNKD and long investors. Trend

It's been a long time since I have posted on this thread. For the first time in over a year, important technical indicators I follow have turned bullish. For those interested, the weekly MACD just went positive at same time the daily MACD is also positive. This won't be dispositive until the end of this week (hopefully the SP will hold at this level). Trend Based on current SP levels ($.95), the MACD weekly will close in positive territory. This is technically bullish if the MACD daily is also in positive territory, which it is. (This positive conjunction of MACD's hasn't occurred in over a year). I encourage all longs who are looking for a good entry point to consider buying at these levels. I will be doing some buying myself. Trend

Well my plan is to add to my position if the share price is a $.99 or higher on close of business on Friday. Trend Trend, why is Friday the significant day for your decision? Is it options related? The weekly MACD is calculated as of the close of business on Friday.

The question is.....What is the plan? "The best laid plans of mice and men oft go awry" (Bobby Burns). What will be the affect on MNKD of those many class action law suits, that are announced almost on a daily basis, start happening. No effect. Covered by insurance.

Much to say about nothing. My prediction is more downgrades or reconfirming bearish position by Goldman, Piper, and JP Morgan. The fact that Matt said "we're not considering bankruptcy at this time" will just provide more fodder for the short interest. But that's Matt. He always makes at least one stupid statement on the CC's, unless he's intentionally trying to sandbag the SP (which I doubt). Trend How should he have answered it? Matt brought up the topic. It wasn't necessary to discuss something that wasn't being discussed seriously by management. And if it was being discussed by management, why bring it up on a conference call. What he did was put the topic on the table for shorts to feed upon and place doubts in investors minds. If he was looking to drive down the SP, he couldn't have have devised a better way. Trend

If any of us did the right due diligence on MNKD we'd be short. I wish I was in patterns shoes who is obviously new to MNKD and not underwater 75% like I am. I'd rather not know about spirometry then be down 75% ? Definately one of your best posts.

Well, let's just start with the first sentence - "Al didn't start Mannkind to make money - he started it as a philanthropic effort." What I object to is the overall dark cloud that surrounds your post, which is Al doesn't care about making money and he has no real profit motive. This point of view begs the question - why should any investor own Mannkind shares if the position of the founder, Chairman of the Board, and largest shareholder is what you state? It's what I would call sophisticated FUD. Trend Right, you're still not understanding my point. Afrezza/MNKD wasn't just an entrepreneurial endeavor. The main purpose of both was to leave a legacy of healing and betterment of medicine. It still seems like you're purposefully choosing to read into what I'm writing. I could have worded it better, but one doesn't preclude the other. In fact, the success of Afrezza/TS would have meant that his philanthropic effort reached its potential. Surely you can understand this. Al didn't need the money. His family didn't need the money. He wasn't doing this for money, at least not for himself. If that's the case, a sale should not be looked upon favorably because it would mean that he was forced to do so, meaning they believe bankruptcy is imminent. That is my point. I'm still not sure what yours is outside of trying to quibble with me... You sound like one of those politicians trying to walk back your ridiculous statement. How about this statement of yours - "It's because they are forced to sell out of inevitable bankruptcy." I'm understand your point of view, and don't buy into your soft bashing FUD. Trend
