As I recall, wasn't the original deal to include UTHR taking over the manufacturing? This is good news for Mankind and a way to keep TS proprietary secrets safer.

It's interesting that Mike completed the sale lease back around this time. Exactly my thought...

I have to admit that the MNKD price action going into what is supposed to be a near term PDUFA date, in October, sure seems strange as I think given the P3 results and the fact that both the API and TS are already approved in other uses. Is it Halloween, is it the shorts? Approval priced in? Is it something to do with LQDA? something else, such as a restrictiion on use with the label? Pictures of the Trep T inhaler going up in the lobby of UTHR, an expedited payment made by a very smart CEO we all respect... all bode well for my belief that Trep T will be approved. I am really not sure what it could be that keeps the pps suppressed... So while imho I expect Trep T to be approved, as a very long long with MNKD I feel like the tortured step child as I/we yet again await an outcome that is not conforming to the norm of expected progression in its last few days... GLTAL's!!! So this is a first... no not the CRL for Mannkind, but the fact that I am quoting myself. I am quoting myself to give recognition to Sports who has been telling me for the last SIX weeks that something was wrong with the way MNKD was trading. I would say to her what could go wrong??? The two main ingredients have already been approved by the FDA for other uses, we all saw the picture of the Trep T inhaler going up in UTHR's office, UTHR paid an extra $105m to expedite the review, Mnkd passed the factory inspection... So what could it be? And yet Sports stuck to her opinion that it was not trading right... And so I wrote the above post to relieve my own doubts about the upcoming PDUFA date. Who knew it would be a 3rd party testing site that would give cause to generate the CRL? Apparently both Nate, as he constantly reminded us the past few weeks, and the Shorts knew... The Shorts always seem to know... Some will likely see this as another buying opportunity and so I wish you all much luck... And as a long time long, I guess another NINE months is not so long to wait... Oh and by the way, Liane perhaps this thread should be entitled "FDA Decision Delayed" GLTAL's

Agreed that the mostly stable price action going into this PDUFA date has not been normal though it's technically UTHR that applied for the decision. While we all know the decision affects MNKD greatly, that's not necessarily the case with many investors. If a good or bad decision was made on Friday, we'd have seen a significant late day price swing from insider knowledge. IMO we should hear something Monday. There are 105 million reasons the decision won't be delayed. Even though UTHR purchased the expedited review from another biotech company, the FDA can't afford for the expedited review process to be de-valued. A big pre-market move Monday morning would not be surprising. I have to get up early again. Yep!

It seems from what I know the worst case is now; uthr is dry powder and Liquidia is a nebulizer. Uthr is the 800lb gorilla in the space. Now it seems they have an inferior competitor

Chris, I was just stating facts (No heresay in anything I said) which I know to be true and are all public I beleive. No desire to fuel rumors and speculation or even disrespect the mnkd CEO.
And yes, I agree timing has quite a bit to do with results... But the facts are facts and that was all I was speaking too. Take credit for what you own both good and bad, do nothing more... Let the people vote with the facts... No fake news on this board that's all I ask...
So I was responding to all the praise being heaped upon the mnkd CEO who is only partially responsible at best imho... and was trying to point out the context so the facts are complete and a history of behavior was used to support my message.
Makes no difference to me ultimately what people choose to believe as people are free to believe and or vote as they choose in this country... And I genuinely mean this, as I mostly stay out of such conversations.
I am still a long shareholder (since 2008) and wish all true longs much luck as it has been and continues to be a bumpy and long journey albeit now with a seemly brighter futurre... In the words of the immortal Joe Friday on a Friday afternoon... "Just the facts Ma'm"
GLTAL's!!!!

I have never once on this board blamed anyone for my investment in mnkd. I made it because i have a brother who was diagnoised with T1 at the age of 8 and suffered his entire life both physically and emotionally only to pass from his T1 and its complications at 62 just last year, after years of physical suffering including 1 1/2 years on dialysis waiting for a kidney. So as far as I am concerned it was an investment of passion not driven by monetary gains.
And by the way, there was nothing in my post directing blame at anyone for my investment in mnkd. I have always held myself accountable for my actions/decisions regardless of why I invested. Am pointing out exactly what you are alluding too imho, which is that the mnkd CEO has not taken responsibility for his actions/outcomes leading mnkd and instead often blames others for the lack of success. It was just a series of facts compiled as I remember them discussing mnkd leadership and what credit may rightfully be deserved.
I am in complete agreement with sweedee and could not have said it better... Thank you sweedee

Thank you! Sweedee, I am with you 100% PLUS...
This has been sitting with me a long time and I just held back for various reasons...
But lately, especially when he took credit for the Sanofi settlement I just decided it was time... Its hard to trust someone when you see how their actions play out... Trust but verify... GLTAL's!

My issues with Mike are that he was brought in to raise scripts/sales for Afrezza. Then after sales did not go up, Mike went behind Matt's back, the CEO who hired him in the first place to raise sales, to the BOD. Mike went to the BOD to get Matt replaced (with himself) saying he could raise the scirpt numbers, that he had failed to raise as COO. In the five years since, this has not happened to the degree one would expect. Not by a long shot imho.
Matt took a chance on Mike and Mike stabbed him in the back, where is the loyalty or morality in this?
Mike said there would be more transparency and I do not feel that is the case. Mike takes credit for a lot of things where discussions began under Matt. Mike recently took credit for the settlement with Sanofi in a recent cc this year. I know for a fact it was due directly to Matt. Mike never offered to reduce his comp during lean years as many CEO's did to align with shareholder losses/interests. Mike has diluted when he said he would not. Mike promised cash flow break even long ago and we are not yet there. Mike offered projections that were way off and has not offered any since. Mike hires and fires sales reps with plans that do not come true. What ever happened to David Kendall? What ever happened to that marketing lady? Sponsorship of race cars? $10m on commercials? Really, I have not seen one consistent marketing effort for Afrezza. Where is the much vaunted online campaign? Where is any marketing campaign?
The reason Mnkd is now on verge of some limited success is from Steve Binder if you ask me.
I do not mean this to sound as harsh as it may to some.... and if you support Mike, I am fine with that... But I urge you to do so with clear EYES... (Yes, am homage to Al) GLTAL's
(Also as a full disclaimer, I am friends with Matt P and have felt for a long time he was never given his due.) "Just the facts please..." or "You can't handle the facts..." Peppy the quotes were for you... HAHA!

Why does this change anything? Wasn't this drug already in the works before Merck bought it? The competition has always been there. What changes is the sales and marketing clout and the level of competition in distribution channels. Makes for a tougher competitor imho...
